Vacuum Distillation

my condenser nozzle has a port on it that makes me think "vacuum" and its got me curious...

if anyone currently runs a vacuum distillation setup, I'd love to hear how you monitor your pressure? what kind of vacuum you use? manometer? ideal pressure/temp zones for materials you think might be stickier than others? what dermines those factors? do you use a trap?

I'm being told it's a breather port by the manufacturer. still seems like you could set it up for vacuum. future project.
