Folks at Al Shareef Oudh we will be having a very special campaign for the Holy Month of Ramadhan. Ouddict members are the first to be introduced to this campaign. The Campaign is "The Scented Month".

Many of us enjoy oils and attars, but not as many of us are experiencing the enjoyment that is offered by burning/heating fragrant woods and resins. Our aim is to have every member of this forum and all our friends and customers actively heat/burn incense/oudh/sandalwood/frankincense etc during this coming month.

To make this possible we will be offering a pack shortly that includes 4 very unique items;

1. Royal Dhikr from the famous Omani Hujary Frankincense. Dhikr is the crown of frankincense according to the Omani's themselves.

2. 100+ year old pieces of Indian Sandalwood. These woods are fragrant at room temperature.

3. Beautiful densely resinated chips of Sri Lankan walla patta

4. Al Shareef's hand crafted bakhoor that includes some of the most exquisite ingredients known to man; Oudh, Musk, Saffron to name a few.

In order to achieve the aim of this campaign we will be offering the pack at a very affordable price so that it is within everyone's budget.

Tell a friend, invite, spread the word.

Sneak Peek :Ninja::Ninja::Ninja: of what is coming soon...

1. Royal Dhikr from the famous Omani Hujary Frankincense. Dhikr is the crown of frankincense according to the Omani's themselves, collected from the oldest of trees and sorted by hand of the harvesters. The Dhikr Hujary are not collected based on colour, the focus here is on scent. The word Dhikr in Arabic means remembrance, in Islamic reference it refers to the remembrance of Allah, the best of scents and fragrances is offered at the time of Dhikr and this is why the Omani's call this Dhikr, as to them it is the best scent profile in the Frankincense family utilised during Ramadhan when night prayers are performed.

2. 100+ year old pieces of Indian Sandalwood. These woods are fragrant at room temperature. Whilst these are not from Mysore, the scent profile and fragrant pleasure it offers is very satisfying and calming. They are simply beautiful. Hand Chiselled by Al Shareef specifically for the month of Ramadhan from larger blocks. These are not off cuts, or wastes from, rather chiselled specifically for The Scented Month.

3. Beautiful densely resinated chips of Sri Lankan walla patta, old stock that does not look thick or beautiful, but when they are on the heater they speak for themselves.

4. Al Shareef's hand crafted bakhoor that includes some of the most exquisite ingredients known to man; Oudh, Musk, Saffron to name a few. When it comes to traditional compositions of bakhoor and fragrance then this is something we pride ourselves in. These cubes are the toil of love and passion. To make these cubes the process starts months earlier with the grounding of the woods that form the foundation for the scent painting. After the woods, the resins are grounded, then in perfect portions the herbs and spices; saffron, clove, cinnamon to name a few are added. These are mixed with the woods, then comes the oils, roses, sandalwood etc. These are all blended then left to rest for 6 months. After which they are grounded further into powder, sifted through fine mesh, then kneaded for more than 24 hours. After which they are rolled out and cut, then let to dry for 5 days. All by hand. There are no binding material used, no combustion material such as charcoal, these are pure natural ingredients composed with love and passion, and when you smell them you will fall in love with them.

Simply mouthwatering... if that sandalwood is the same as I have off you, it’s the best I have ever smelled. Nothing comes close to it.

Masha'Allah, they look so wonderful and the description and images are very attractive.

Will one be able to pick any of them individually, or will they be in one single package?

As for price, as low as you can go, bro.

So I personally won't mind them being packed in a package with less volume - for e.g. those thick electric and bobble wrap zip lock bags all individually packed.

The Scented Month

The aim of the campaign ‘The Scented Month’ is to make accessible to all the wondrous world of burning and heating scented materials. The pleasures of heating woods and resins is on many levels: from creating a beautiful and calming ambience, be it for worship, meditation or leisure to scenting ones skin, hair and clothing. Whilst the scents of oils and sprays last some hours, the smell of scented smoke on clothes can lasts for days and weeks.

With this in mind we have created these wonderful fragrant quartets; a beautiful compilation of 4 distinct scents characteristic of the month of Ramadhan; Frankincense, Sandalwood, Sri Lankan Walla Patta & Bakhoor for you to enjoy at your leisure in the coming Ramadhan nights.

Spread the word, tag and link a friend #thescentedmonth #Alshareefoudh

What sort of burner do you recommend for these items? I own nothing but a cheapo incense-stick burner and a tealight-powered oil diffuser. (hangs head in shame)

A good burner to begin with is an electrical burner with a temperature control that allows the user to control the temperature from low to combustion.

However the ultimate burning experience is utilising a natural charcoal, such as coconut charcoal and developing your own method based on your preference. The material is of excellent quality that can be utilised in scent listening ceremonies.

The charcoal burning method can also be very economical, minimalistically speaking one only needs a charcoal and something to hold the ashes. One of our guys would be happy to help you through step by step, please just drop us an email.
