So I know this hasn’t really had a dedicated thread but has anyone had any experience with this company since the original quality issues? I’m currently awaiting Thebes so for the price it’s not much of a gamble in case it’s not to my liking. Has anyone noticed a change in quality since 2019 for the better?

That picture of the opened “Himalayan Deer Musk Pod” was enough for me to steer clear of the entire website
While I agree with you here, for $30 usd I’m more so concerned on wether or not the quality of scent has improved but not actually the quality of ingredients. For example Maison Anthony Marmin does a fantastic job creating Attars for under $30usd a 1/4 tola. I’ll be okay buying his creations because they smell amazing! He uses both natural and synthetic musk but the scent is unreal for the price.

For me the problem isn’t a low price. I totally agree that Anthony Marmin makes a really amazing product for a great price. My issue is when artifice is employed in selling product. That rubs me the wrong way.

I can agree with that. I’m always weary of any vendor that claims clear musk is natural.

I’m still blown away at how solid Maison Anthony’s fragrances are.

I agree completely. However I am a little confused as to what you two are talking about advertising tricks used with their musk products. If you do not mind, can you please elaborate? I have seen this company before and I have been intrigued by the possibility that maybe, just maybe, there might be a good portion of real musk in these oils. Although from my experience, it is a financial impossibility. Thank you in advance

That’s the question I’m asking as well. I ordered an Attar from Ameenroma so I’ll find out soon enough. Hopefully on Saturday.

From my understanding they used to use adultered products but after a very public display of shame, Ameenroma vowed to up their quality control and materials. They sell clear musks on their site which isn’t real deer musk but it’s being claimed to be natural or at least not remarked on leaving the buyer to assume its natural musk. I personally don’t care so much about wether the musk is real or not but rather does the Attars smell good. Is the oil of a higher quality and better smell than before?

These go for such a low price it’s hard to tell if they’re using legit materials as claimed yet Maison Anthony Marmin is universally accepted as an amazing perfumer and creates traditional Arabic style Attars for under $30usd no problem. So the question isn’t wether money equals a better smell but rather what can be done with cheap ingredients.

In my opinion vendors who use shady descriptions or incomplete descriptions of things like musk to imply natural origins without stating it are crooks. Majid Iteriji being a prime example. What they state about their products and their origins means absolutely nothing. I think these businesses should not be patronized unless they are upfront with what they’re selling.

I see. Yes, this will be interesting to follow up on. I am sure you will put your review of the product or products you ordered when you are ready. I will certainly be looking for that when you do.

Thank you very much for the info. I had a feeling it was something along those lines but you never know so I thought I would ask ;)

Salaam brothers/sisters...I purchase two oils from Ameenroma a Cambodian Oud..which had that cheesy profile that Cambodi Oud has but also a very olive oil smell...like virgin olive oil, it smells nice..but was not 100% Cambodian Oud.

The second Oil was Dehn Oudh Indian Attar oil, has very nice scent piny but does not smell anything like any of my Indian Oud oils that I purchase after receiving this Attar...I wasn't very upset because it's an Attar.

Alright gentlemen, Thebes is absolutely NOT what I expected. It smells like pure, powdery soap. That’s it. No other notes just plain ol’ soap that your grandma probably bathed you in as a child. Now don’t get me wrong soap doesn’t smell bad but this is just downright false advertising.

From the brand:

“Using a very selected formulation of Pure Cambodian Agarwood Oudh/ Selective Black Musk and a touch of Amber + (Secret Ingredient), the opposite sex will be captivated to your bewitching Pheromone. Created to uplift one's mood and guaranteed attraction. Trying is believing!”

Notes:

PURE Cambodi Oudh, selected Kasturi Deer Musks & fresh Ambergris - Notes filled with: Sweet yet subtle Oud/ Smokey Musk/ Fresh Amber (Mysterious musky sweetness)

NONE of those notes are apparent at all. I heard stories that this vendor was a good person and honest vendor however I no longer believe that to be true. This is misleading the general public into think what they sell is not only authentic but of a high quality.

Assalamualikum wa rahmatholahi wa barakaathu my dear brothers and sister.

Firstly, as claimed - In our original creation of King Of Thebese - we DO use original Cambodian Oud (for the price, it's not of the highest quality like AAA super) its more of a A grade compared to a AAA grade - since we are using it for a Mukhallat)
, Musk (indeed we use Deer musk infusion) - infusion is soaked deer pods in sandal oil to extract the essence of the black deer musk obtained.
and Fresh Ambergris. (This is pure and not adulterated)

It may not be to your liking brother Castingshadows - but i do not agree that it smells like soap. (i respect you opinion dear brother) - If you do not like the scent and feel you have been cheated from
what you have paid, then the amount i obtain from your sale becomes Haram to me and my profession brother.
I am willing to offer you a return and refund if you would prefer.

We have come a long way from selling oud chips, oils, musk and perfume oil - its more then a decade.
We really have no intension to cheat anyone's purchases and i am a perfumer who values all my customer.

We do have a range of Oud oils from different regions - From Malaysia, Thailand, India, Vietnam and Cambodia.
All our oils are hand picked and we cater to different price, grade and age.
No every one can afford AAA quality oud oils - that does not make our Oil fake or Adulterated brother.

May Allah s.w.t bless us all with imman, taqwa, great health and every lasting happiness.
Stay Safe - Stay Healthy brothers and sisters.

Wasalam

Hmmm... we had a beloved forum member who could not speak English well (Benyben) who left the forum back in 2018 as I objected to the way he criticised AmeenAroma as a company and the products in general. He also said that there was an olive oil note in the oils. My objection at the time was the manner of the objection, but not the objection itself as everyone is free to respectfully post their opinions on products they purchase from any vendor on this forum.

To my knowledge, this is the second time someone has vehemently criticised products from you brother. If your products are pure but of a lower quality as you say, then that’s fine and no fault of yours. From your response, you seem honest enough, but that post from @Kabir Attars is the exact same complaint that Benyben had.

Of course, it is not fair to compare high and low grade oils or blends and complain that they are not of equal stature. However, what concerns me is the complaint (yet again) is that the product is not as advertised. Unfortunately I have not smelled any of your oils, so I cannot make my own assessment, but if anyone wants to share a small sample of the oils concerned, please PM me. Thanks.

I can assure you because of the strength and tenacity of this oil and because of the intense soapy aroma chemical you’re using these are not completely natural. I know what deer musk, ambergris and Cambodian Oud should smell like. The description is completely misleading. If you were to say this is a synthetic white musk accord I would say okay that sounds right. This has heavy muscanone vibes and is nowhere close to the smell of kasturi deer musk OR ambergris.

As mentioned, we respect your opinion to what you may persevere to be. I can assure you the same way we use authentic Cambodian Oud , infused black musk and authentic ambergris. We are not using any chemicals nor synthetic mixtures in King Of Thebes mukhallat attar.

It may smell soapy to you and that’s your opinion of our Mukhallat attar. In the same way I may also say of other customers who are delighted with this attar and have made multiple repurchases with great compliments.

As mentioned, if you are not satisfied - we will be glad to assist you for a return and refund.

God Bless

Specifically 1979 Zest Bar Soap My wifie called it out on the spot immediately!! I almost ordered a 1979 vintage bar of Zest from Ebay just to prove her accuracy but I didn't have to its assuredly Zest Circa 1979.

It is kind of funny that Ebay has multiple availabilities for 1979 Zest bars but hey its a strange world we live in right ?
Anyway King of Thebes Oil and the EDP BOTH REAK of Zest soap it was truly nasty almost headache inducing
definitely headache inducing for my wifie..

You gotta respect their offer above to address the issue however that has to count for something

They will stand behind all the products they sell and refund or replace. Awesome customer service, that being said I have found all the products of low or questionable quality and would not recommend them.
