Hey Gang,

Taking a quick poll ...

The pandemic has been a VERY productive few months, and we’ve juiced quite a few oils over the past few months.

Some oils I was able to produce a few Tolas of.
Others ... maybe just 1-2 Tolas

Generally for me to start selling an oil (essentially meaning selling full bottles and sample sizes), I need at least 3 - 5Tolas. So the question is ...

For these high high grade oils that I’ve got in smaller quantities - what sounds like an ideal size as I’ll be having to forego sample sizes and full quarter Tolas and will instead have to opt for a smaller bottle as the full size :

0.3g V-Vial?
0.5g V -Vial?
1g V-Vial?

Keeping in mind these are high caliber oils with smaller quantities - is it better to have a few high priced options, or more bottles with a smaller quantities and more feasible price?

Curious for your thoughts.
Thanks!

I think it would be helpful to know more about the specific oils, and some ballparks on pricing. Are these oils you distilled in GA?

Thanks!

Even with large quantities available in the past with incredible oils, I’ve always opted for smaller quantities like .3 or .5g and in special occasions I’ll grab a full gram or bottle. So I support spreading the oils into smaller amounts.

I’m very interested to see what you have in store for us, and like others it does have a lot to do with pricing and what exactly it is. Seeing as each has their own preference for oud I may spring for a higher quantity of say a Hong Kong, versus a Malaysian. And not to mention it’s better shared with more people than for a lucky few to snatch up all the goodies!

When we can expect prices and pics for oils and woods, especially nha trang and khanh hoa I hope I can get some :D

In my opinion, 0.3g V-vial is optimal size. You can get some swipes in and more people can get to enjoy the oil.

It’s more about - with small quantities, it’s hard to offer sample sizes AND quarter Tolas when there’s only a Tola or two (or less)

I may just offer some 0.3g and maybe a few 1g sizes

Will be working on some photos. These newer chips tend to be larger, so may need to either list some chips individually - or chips on certain allotments individually. Sadly it’s time consuming work ... so I’ve been dragging feet on getting that done a bit.

Working on writing descriptions on the oils. Some of them are so complex or unusual that I’m at a bit of a loss for words.

For example - the Ipoh, Malaysian oil smells like strawberries to my nose.

The Khanh Hoa is sweet and ... BTFOM (Beats the F Outta Me)

The Jorhati oil smells like Toasted Cashews

One of the Nagalands smells Nutty and Floral

Brunei smells like Oud Liquor

Filippino also smells like Oud Liquor. But they don’t smell the same.

Wild Khao Yai smells like superb chips without the smoke note

Several Incense Hindi batches that smell like chips on charcoal (a personal fave style)

Meghalaya smells like BTFOM

NHA trang smells like BTFOM. Kinda Bitter amd BTFOM :Roflmao:

Just a few examples

As for woods ...

I’ve got a dozen or so rare Indo woods from smaller islands and areas folks likely have never seen nor heard of. One of my personal faves is the Buton Island ... spicier than the spiciest Vietnamese I’ve tried. I love it to the point of not wanting to sell any :Roflmao: A close second is the Sinabang Island ... most that have smelled it blind thought it was a new type of Cambodi they haven’t smelled. It’s kind of a cross between Malinau and Cambodi scent.

Several different Ipoh and Pahang Malaysian lots - Some of them malty or syrupy. Deeply Oudy. One in particular quite unique and spicy.

Several different bead waste lots of excellent unique scents ... Jayapura, Malaysia, Live Tree High Mountain Papuas, Bunyu Island, Tarakan, Brunei

Several different Viets - Khanh Hoa Mountains, Quang Binh, Dao Phu Quoc Island, Da Nang Mountains

High Grade Batches of Cambodi Pursat, Koh Kong, and Pailin

I have some Wild Bangladeshi, as well, that smells like Musk

There’s more, but these are what’s coming to mind

I know I know ... all the options are gonna be a bit overwhelming :Barefoot: Sorryyyyyyyyy :Roflmao:

I would suggest not overlooking any of the Hindi oils. Unique scents, diverse regions, high grade incense woods. With the exception of the Nutty Floral Nagaland (which I was able to make 6 Tolas) - these are all small batches of wild, high grade incense woods.
