I recently revisited the Mutahid sample Habz sent me a few months ago and compared it to other oils I have. It really grew on me. I have sampled oils from most of the resident artisans by now and this one has earned its special place besides JK's ancient KyCam Rouge, IO's Cambodi Vintage 2002...
Thank god for forums like Ouddict! Of course most of it must be fake or adulterated. Like the stuff Scent Salim (also a reseller of Arabian Oud stuff) is selling. 100 years old Assam Oud for $260.

Different temperatures trigger diffusion of certain compounds, I think. Today it is freezing cold in Germany and I smelled Imperial Oud's "Cambodi Vintage 2002" for the first time at this temperature. It was the most beautiful and perfect tobacco and pepper accord! I wish it would smell this way...
