Mr.P why would you suggest, on the words of a self confessed novice, that Agar Aura is selling adulterated oud oil?Isn’t crocodile oud another word for buoya or aetoxylon? Is this an oil of aetoxylon or agarwood i wonder? I checked. That’s not oud, but a different species altogether - this stuff is sold dirt cheap on eBay...
I wonder if those oils you mention might have a little bit of aetoxylon mixed in and that is why you are recognizing it?
Yes you are correct Crocodile is Aetoxylon. I believe that the others are pure Ouds..the notes that they share are this very green woody scent like deep jungle.Isn’t crocodile oud another word for buoya or aetoxylon? That is a rather slanderous comment to make...
In my experience AA currently distills the purest, true to the wood and highest quality oud oil you can buy!
Yes this I do know...I posted here because I didn't see a thread that related to...Non Agarwood impressions I also like it.Yes this is not a pure oud, it's, as Mr P pointed out "buoya"
I have tried this and it comes off as slightly Papuan to me, I quite liked it.
the post clearly stated "but it does reminds me of Mardelong, Pursat select and Kayu Melayu from Agar Aura "Oh those were agar aura oils? I didn’t know.
Ok I am a novice...but I did not say it smelled like Oud...I did say that it remind me of the ouds that I listed with out the oudyness.Mr.P why would you suggest, on the words of a self confessed novice, that Agar Aura is selling adulterated oud oil?

edit:Rising Phoenix's crocodile is indeed pure Aetoxylon/Buaya wood. If it is lucky to smell like oud to a novice that is great.

I wonder why someone would make such potentially damaging comments??
What have I stated that would be potentially damaging...that a oil that I have smelled (reminded me) of another oil that I have smelled also...the post clearly stated "but it does reminds me of Mardelong, Pursat select and Kayu Melayu from Agar Aura "

I was referring to mr.p's comment. No problem with your review at all. What have I stated that would be potentially damaging...that a oil that I have smelled (reminded me) of another oil that I have smelled also...
I believe that the distillation process can introduce notes depending on various parameters. So if I distilled agarwood and aetoxylon using a similar apparatus, water, techniques, etc........it is likely that there will be some shared notes.
That’s an interesting thought.I believe that the distillation process can introduce notes depending on various parameters. So if I distilled agarwood and aetoxylon using a similar apparatus, water, techniques, etc........it is likely that there will be some shared notes.
