I like how the ingredients in this stick react to each other. Conflicting, but harmonious. Very interesting...

    Bitter, spicey, agarwoody,
    with a touch of herbs.

then I lit some Koshiboku long stick
    and got a medicinal hit.

    Revisited some sandalwood sticks

    Keigado Keiga Byakudan
A little perfume on top of a
    swipe of sandalwood oil.

    Kyukyodo Miyuki
    A lot of perfume
    a dash of turmeric
    with a good sandalwood
    underneath all that.

    Daihatsu sandalwood
    A touch of fruity perfume
    on top of sandalwood.

    Yamadamatsu Karaku sandalwood
    A dash of benzoin
on a medium dose of sandalwood.

    Tennendo Kohrokan
    A touch of spice
    on creamy sandalwood.

    Minorien Fu-in sandalwood
    Closest to straight-up sandalwood
but helped a tiny bit with aromatics.

    Shunkohdo Sarasoju
    Simply sandalwood and binder
    with subtle sandalwood richness.

    Yamadamatsu Kouboku Senshu sandalwood
    Smells almost of pure sandalwood
but the smoke is harsh, not sure if it’s
from the binder or the sandalwood itself.

    Baieido Kokoh Byakudan
    Nice sandalwood
but heavy on the Baieido signature
    use of medicine/herbs/spice.

I don’t get a lot of Cambodian oudh
and the binder is barely there,
    but it’s a symphonic blend
where all the notes are in harmony.

Dr. Incense Blue Lotus this morning.

Unique and earthy comes to mind. Pairing it with Chrysanthemum tea cedes ultimate bliss.

    Ken’s Papua New Guinea

Am I sensing “cooling notes” ?

    Unique stuff, no jungle,
    some sort of perfumey resin.

    Then..
    Kida Jinseido Hanakokonoe

A late comer to my collection,
but oh how glad I am to have it.
Mellow spice mix and nice agarwood.

    And lastly...
    Homemade stick using
    Nippon Kodo Indonesian Kizami

    It’s smelling very much like
    Kalimantan.

    Imperial Oud Walla Patta

A sobering stick full of good Walla Patta.
I read that some sinking was used,
but based on how it smells
    the shavings must have been
    top stuff too.

    Glad I stocked up:Cooler:

I feel that the melon notes in this Vietnamese stick
    is overdone.

    Ken’s Brunei stick

    Made from KZ’s Brunei Heartwood,
and it surely smells like it,
    mildly sweet, perfumey, oudy,
    and a sprinkling of spice.

    This stick is my buddy,
    so glad to have it.

I’ve been going through my Baieido’s
and love their blending, but I can’t speak for the newer batches.

Then I lit my pure Indonesian stick
    just 6.3% binder,
    no need for aromatic blending,
the agarwood itself is the aromatic,
and a wonderful one at that:rolleyes:

More similar to Enju than Seiran,
a gentle green oil kyara scent.
