Recently, there has been a lot of talk about the wood used to distill Oud oils. As a company steeped in the culture and tradition of the Arabs, we place emphasis on the experiential rather than the abstract and the functional instead of the symbolic. It’s no coincidence that experimental method was born in the civilisation established by them. In plain English this means that our contribution to this debate is to allow the oils and woods to speak to your nose and to provide them at a price where you don’t feel inclined to keep them under lock and key, never to be enjoyed.

Al Hashimi are proud to announce the launch of the Origin Collection - combinations of the highest grade oils matched to their woods to produce olfactory magic and an experience that cannot be captured through semantics.

So how does all this relate to this thread? Well, we have been busy selecting and matching oils and their respective woods and are now ready to offer them to you. This is the first of our experimental packs to accompany the discussion if you like. Please form an orderly queue, thank you. :D

First up we have Adnan, our Wild Filipino from Mindanao. Yes we wanted to announce it prior to the sale, but decided to surprise all our customers who have bought some of this oil from us. Yes! You are all going to receive the actual wood from the batch it was made from!!! Malik visited the distiller back in July when we were collecting the wood for our first Filipino distillation and requested him to make another Filipino oil from the wood he had. Of course he didn’t forget you guys and picked up enough of this wood to share with all buyers of this oil.

Next up is our little known, but exquisite Microcarpa oil. A smooth and sophisticated oil with orange blossom and honey running through its DNA, aged for around 3 years and presented to you with a few chips of Microcarpa wood from the same region in Borneo. These two treasures really need a quiet place to be enjoyed and studied. Place a drop onto your wrists and a chip on the heater. Gently smear the oil across your skin and wait for the interplay between the cloud of oil vapour as it hits your nostrils and the wafts of sweet incense notes emanating from your burner. Pure bliss.

So there you have it fellow Ouddicts. Two special oils paired with their related woods at a cost that will not break your wallets. Our contribution to this debate and a call to action to add another dimension to this discussion.

Come on.... what are you waiting for?

It's an unreleased oil of ours. Literally called "Microcarpa", distilled from Kalimantan Microcarpa. The full set includes 1gram of Microcarpa oil and 10 grams of Kalimantan Microcarpa chips. :Inlove:
