Santal X.png

If you haven’t read about our X Collection yet, then you are in for a treat. Heating Sandalwood is great, but it doesn’t perform as well as Oud does. The dry wood often scorches if you try dialing up the heat, and so we often find ourselves turning towards Sandalwood oil to find a befitting experience. Yet, Sandalwood oil leaves a lot to desire, never fully capturing the raw aroma found in raw Sandalwood.

I think you can already tell where this is going… Santal X is something unheard of in the world of perfumery. Created by the dignified hands of our very own lab, it’s an achievement that will go down in history as a turning point in experiencing new frontiers of fragrance. No distillation tricks or techniques here involved.

All we did was extracted the living daylights out of a 100-Year old Sri Lankan "Grandmother" Sandalwood tree using black heartwood sandalwood, that is the highest grade possible.

Santalum Album. Same species as Mysore but from Sri Lankan old grandmother trees.. The aroma…You ever smell Ceylon Sandal raw? That spicy, cinnamon sweet, sugared cream. Compact it. Condense it. Compress it! As for the applications, the possibilities are limitless.

You might be wondering:
  • Can I swipe this and use it as a perfume?
  • Can I use this in blends?
  • Can I tincture this in alcohol?
  • Can I add a few drops to an incense blend I’m working on?
Yes, you definitely can do all those things with our Frankenstein-esque creation. So don’t wait up, be the first to experience the third dimension of Sandalwood. The only downside to Santal X is that it didn’t scream “It’s ALIIIVEEE!!!” when it was born…

3g for the price of 2.5g Temporary Offer!!!

A bit more about the Santal X that is currently on a once-in-a-lifetime offer today.

If you are wondering what this Santal X is, then read on. It is not your ordinary sandalwood oil as they smell quite different to this oil and most people we have spoken to prefer the Santal X hands down, with no contest. We have a team within Al Hashimi who are actually very qualified when it comes to chemistry (our Head of Product Innovation has a Masters degree in Organic Chemistry) and so we are able to pull off feats with these natural materials that other vendors might struggle (Royal Musk X anyone...? 😎) with and one of our aims with these flash sales is to upgrade and modernise our current distillery and lab as we have major plans for the future (as opposed to our other distillery that was relocated from Saudi Arabia where it was previously based, to the UK).

Going back to the Santal X, if you have ever had the privilege of experiencing first-hand what a vintage sinking-grade log of Mysore sandalwood, full of oil and some resin smells like at room temperature then you will know what I am on about. Santal X replicates this smell, but with an added intensity that is simply mesmerising. For those who do not know, just imagine the warm smell of creamy sandalwood oil, but without any hint of harshness, add to that a soft woody sandalwood note and hints of spices and incense that you did not even realise existed in any sandalwood. This gives you some idea. The oil is so dense that it sinks in water - take a look for yourself.

So today and only for a day, we are giving you the chance to have a whole tola at a giveaway price until 8pm GMT and yes, this really is an X-Rated offer!

The previous batch sold out fast and was made from excellent vintage sandalwood, but the black heartwood sinking-grade sandalwood from a "grandmother" tree over 100 years old that was used for this batch today, blows the previous one away*

What Other People Say About the Previous Batch*
A very thick oil and somewhat smoky. My impression is that it is an intimate way to connect with Sandalwood, not perfumy, but a glowing deepness hovering over your skin. A very new and unique way to enjoy Sandal. - Curt, USA

My impressions of Santal x first it is wonderful, reminds me of my Agarwood CO2....very woody. The top note is spice like clove, cardamom. The middle note is santal and the base note is a deep woody cedar balsamic note. Very nice and masculine. - Kabir, USA

I tried Santal X once, I have been attacked by tree lovers ever since, great stuff. - Martin, Sweden

Calming with a very rich and deep aroma. Great Quality! - Juuso, Finland

Swiped Santal X, and I fell deep into the creamy buttery notes of what is expected of Mysore sandalwood oil. Truly is amazing. - Jason, Singapore

Hats off to Santal X. It is something different, raw and more intense than Santal oil. I try it, I use it, I enjoy it. -Milan, Slovakia

Santal X is spectacular, sooooo deep and dark. It makes me feel my skin was born inside a 500 year old sandal tree. Only ever got this scent from raw wood, and it's still deeper. -Stephen, Ireland

I got Santal X and it is phenomenal. Something I have not smelt before in any sandalwood oil. Love it. - Inder, USA

I think this sounds like a great way to go with sandalwood. I have picked up several extracts (co2, absolute) over the years and the ones that were from quality materials were just outstanding in one way or another.

I didn't know where to post this, we don't have a Sandalwood of the day, so forgive me for my repetition.

I want to give a huge shout-out and thanks to Al Hashimi and Ahmad Abassi for SANTAL X !! I have more than enough Sandalwood for this lifetime. A huge collection encompassing sandalwoods from all over the planet, produced using a wide variety of distillations, etc etc. But this ranks among my most esteemed and favorite Sandalwood of all time, dark & deep, & cherry.

It has that quality of special that transcends mysteriously, that makes one shiver, when witnessing the sublime. Even a mediocre sandalwood can be lovely, but this Santal X, I would quantify as ceremonial. It is truly a gift made by anointed hands. I appreciate as well the box stuffed with goodies and treats to try. These are just classy people, with that rare combination of heart and intelligence, art & spirit of generosity. I simply love Santal X and the resin before it. I would hoard it if I could.

ALL to say IF I find myself in a fire, the winds shifting in my direction, my SANTAL X's will be what I reach for to stuff my tiny purse... before being overtaken by smoke inhalation:)
