The Sampler Sets are suitable for those of you who wish to purchase the sets for benchmarking or educational purposes, while the Extended Sets are for those who may wish to own a larger amount of oil for use on occasion. Please refer to the usage guide at the end for reference*. The total number of sets available will be made clear at the launch of each set and once sold out, they will not be re-released. Scent Traditions is a sampler-set series being launched today to provide a limited release, educational curriculum for Oud and sandalwood oils and will - as the name suggests - comprise of sets that represent some of the finest vintage oil samples based on a category-based theme. The theme of the first week has to be what many consider to be the historical twin pillars of the Agarwood world. When one thinks of Oud, the first two words that come to mind are “Hindi” and “Cambodi” and it is precisely these two categories that will form the content of our first two Scent Traditions sampler sets. Oud from the Indian Subcontinent has a celebrated history that goes back for thousands of years everywhere it has been traded in and features prominently in the Judeo-Christian and Islamic Civilisations with mention of Agarwood in their founding religious scriptures. The civilisations of the Far East also included Agarwood in the fabric of their everyday lives, with the dominant Chinese and Japanese societies in particular, treasuring the spectacular Agarwood harvests from Viet-Nam and Kampuchea. Their Agarwood stocks were integrated into their own spiritual rites and rituals where the use of incense played a dominant role, while also utilising them in their medicinal practices. Scent Traditions: Classic Hindi Sampler Set. Number of Oils - Five Legendary Hindi Oud Oils Number of Sets - Ten On sale until Friday 9th August or until sold out if earlier The mission for Scent Legends is to provide affordable access to the finest examples of historical and "legendary" ouds. Why spend over $4500 on all five full bottles of the oud oils in this sampler set, when you can learn about them for a lot less? Not an easy remit when selling oud oils of this calibre, but with the sampler set at only $299 plus shipping, I think you would agree that we have managed it. These five oils will allow you to study the nuances between them and enable you to identify high grade Hindi oils. Comparison with other oils side-by-side will immediately highlight the age and grade of the oils and provide an Oud education that is simply unattainable otherwise. In practise, I have found that using small drops of 2mm diameter instead of swipes enables one to help extend the oud oil and doubles the lifespan of a sample. Note: 1. Scent Traditions: Classic Cambodi Sampler Sets above are sold primarily for reference and benchmark purposes. 2. Scent Traditions: Classic Cambodi Extended Sets above are sold primarily for occasional to weekly usage. *The Scent Legends Oils Usage Guide is published with permission from Al Hashimi.
