I'm sorry to see theres nothing yet posted in this Knowledge base!
I wanted to share my recent experience of applying oud to a new part of my body that i had not tried up until now - on my throat hole (right under the adams apple)! And i must say the scent bubble is the strongest compared to applying oil anywhere else on my body. Up until now, the scent would get lost on me. But over time i've discovered that for personal experience, apply the oil as close to ones nose as possible but also somewhere where it projects (for e.g. on my upper lip is the closest to my nose but when i apply oud there it does not project). I dont get great results with applying it behind my ear or on the side of my neck either. Only issue with the throat hole is when i'm wearing a shirt (at home im usually not hahaha)...in which case i find under the chin or adams apple also works a treat

Good point....I have issues applying on my skin because it causes irritations that can last days...so I apply to clothes mostly...
I also apply under my nose (tash) but can still be irritating....might try your suggestion......

I am sorry to hear of your skin reaction that’s a shame, my personal favorite place is on my face like after shave😂

Wrist applications don’t last long for me as I work with plants, constantly get rubbed away. On the plus side. Wrist application gets onto my woolly jumpers and then lasts weeks.
A favourite place to apply for me is the ends of my locks. Not great for massive projection but I can apply as many oils as I have locks, oils can be sniffed separately while sill combining in their ambient phase.
Longevity is impressive on locks, unlike brushed hair which can’t keep the scent separated in the same way.

Recently, I started to have issues like rashes when I apply anything on my skin. I dont know if it is related to cold weather. It is for sure anything last longer on clothes. Maybe be this also is healthier even if you use all naturals

I find that where I put oud or any other oils depends on the experience I want to get from it. If I'm looking to study the oil or have a therapeutic experience for myself I'll use my wrist or some of my knuckles. If I'm looking to wear as more like a perfume I'll place some oil on my fingers and then place under the chin or into my beard if I have one at the time. Oud seems to project well that way and like has been said oud on hair or clothes does last longer. I'll have to try on the throat.

I do recall reading some where before that application to cloths is more preferable then on skin.
For me cloths gets first application, after that I may apply some to my beard....maybe.

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) used to apply 'itr on hair.....ie. hair on his holy head, eyebrow, beard and near to armpit. May Allah forgive me( if I wrong). Personally I use oud at inner front of my shirt's collar when I say on cloth.

If I am just wearing at home for enjoyment, a swipe on the wrist near where I would wear my watch is the best spot.

If I am wearing it out as a perfume, I will swipe on my wrist and also inner forearms and sometimes neck. I also apply to beard and mustache, I feel it lasts long and projects nicely that way.

Regarding this topic there`s no clear narrations about our Beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW applying Oud or Ittr to his blessed beard, The scholars have done what is called (Istidlal) as some companions used to fragrance the hair.
Yes our Prophet used to apply natural oils to his blessed beard and there`s a sunnah way of doing it.
