    Electric Burners And Heaters

Haha, I do a version of this tin foil lid with holes for changing the heat with all sorts of things, usually with a little tab out to the side so I can yank it off with tweezers if it smells like things are getting too toasty under there. Found mica sheets on ebay.co.uk following a comment...

Complete Oud Of The Year Nominations Open!

Yay. Wild oud. Yunnan, from ASO. Will post reviews of the ones I tried in the appropriate place in a few days, but want to finish a second round with them all first.

Awh, will try to come over, especially if it is likely that it'll be farther away in subsequent years.

Complete Oud Of The Year Nominations Open!

Is it ok to nominate if I've only tried things from one vendor?

Wow What A Year! End2019 Sale

Ahhh, the samples of oud oils and attars as well as 20grams of Kunuz have arrived with me. And as if the offer here wasn't already beyond generous, there were two extra samples included and some very plump luban tears. Haven't opened any of them yet, and won't for a few days, but the box holding...

Watches - Do You Guys/gals Wear Them Anymore?

I've an old manual winder that was my grand-uncle's, but my wrists are quite big for a girl and the case is not deep, so it doesn't look too strange. Not that I'd mind if it did. Will be very pleased if the leather strap takes on the smell of oud.

    Giving Away $10,000....

How about we pool our money, and hire a neuroscientist who specialises in the neurobiochemistry of olfaction, to find ways to tweak our systems so we can sense the oud and other delights all over? And... as an adjunct, pay them to find ways to protect human bodies from diseases which can cause...

Caring A Fragrant Item Instead Of Wearing Perfume

Was it Catherine de' Medici who introduced the fashion for scents and scenting behaviours to the French court when she arrived to marry from Florence, or it that likely to be inaccurate?

    Welcome

Oh somehow didn't see this thread. Hello - I've been here for nearly a week, and have been enjoying the discussions and general atmosphere enormously. It feels like a haven of gentleness. Only discovered the forum whilst trying to find out a little bit more about oudh, following an impulse...

What Fragrant Plants Do You Have Or Wish You Had?

Toying with the idea of setting a wisteria to climb indoors in a small yet airy room which gets orangerie levels of sunlight without getting particularly hot, but keeping it suitably trained could prove to be an irritating rather than pleasurable project. For now there are tuberoses and a...

Caring A Fragrant Item Instead Of Wearing Perfume

Oh yeah, I think some of the European fragrance houses started out as glove manufacturers, or making fragrances for same. And Molinard's Habanita was initially released so women could fragrance their cigarettes with it, but enough began wearing it on themselves instead.

    Tea or Coffee

What-cha carries a fairly good range of things, at least whilst you're figuring out which types of tea you might like to explore further.

    Ouddicts (not So Much) Anonymous

On the flip side, I've been wondering whether oudh could play a role in assisting people who are working on overcoming substance addictions, both as an adjunct to meditative-type practices, but also for relearning how to access pleasure through healthy avenues.

Caring A Fragrant Item Instead Of Wearing Perfume

Also a tradition of using aromatic materials to create Rosary beads, and prayer beads used in other faiths. Think the idea there is that the scent will help the mind to achieve a prayerful state, as well as the relationship between reverence of whomever you are praying to and the materials you...

    Tea or Coffee

Both! Currently in a tea phase, which is mostly Nepali blacks as that keeps things somewhat affordable with the amount I drink, but also high roasted Chinese oolongs and aged hei cha, though I enjoy most things which have complexity and substance. For coffee, I'll drink anything that works...

Would quite like some hybrid of "noud" and "noob", but I'll leave it up to you to decide on the spelling.

    Incense mixtures

I realise you posted a while ago, but I've received some really lovely green Hojari from a vendor called vanilla2you. They have their own site, but also sell on eBay and Etsy. The quality seems to vary somewhat from order to order, so I'd suggest buying in small amounts. And I can vouch for...
