True Ouddict
This question I mostly direct to our perfume artisans, but everyone’s input is appreciated. :praying:

The thing I’m struggling with is the question of what is best way to dry the natural plant material to preserve its precious essential oils inside of the material. To cure it....

I got here sweet grass and plenty of conifer tree cones. I would like to make sure they will keep their scent for possibly a few years. Is it even possible? Probably not, it probably also needs a proper storage solution. Perhaps tincture would be a better idea. But even tincturing... it would probably be desirable to remove water content first. So what’s the best way to achive that?

Leaving it in a room temperature, in clean and low humidity environment for a few days - weeks. Or perhaps using some desiccant (silica gel, molecular sieve, zeolite etc.) would be a better idea? But wouldn’t desiccant swallow the essential oils too?

Let me know how you do it. I would be grateful for any tips and suggestions.
