Oud Beginner
I'm a huge oud enthusiast, but so far I have only been able to interact with pretty standard ouds from Ajmal, ASQ, and similar retailers. Fantastic, no doubt, but I as I found myself getting more and more interested in agarwood, I wanted to be able to experience the pinnacle of the hobby and have a reference point for what is being discussed when people here talk about Kyara. I'm a pretty young guy, and have always wanted to buy something from Shoyeido or similar, but that's a bit out of reach at the moment.
With this, I've just pulled the trigger on 0.1g of Kangiiten's Hon Kyara. How is this as a first Kyara? What should I expect, and what am I really getting? I understand that even Kyara has different sub-grades; where will this Hon Kyara sit within the Kyara spectrum?
I appreciate your insights! Thank you very much, I always enjoy learning from you. Also, I would be keen on buying a little more Kyara to continue my journey if anyone is willing to let some go. My budget is ~2-300 USD; I'm a total collector (read: hoarder) and will cherish it forever, and not sell.
