I have been experimenting with rose absolutes, but found that in some compositions, the rose scent was overwhelmingly dominant. I set aside these overpowering blends and revisited them three years later. Over time, they had mellowed beautifully, resulting in a harmonious and appealing fragrance.

Salaam Brother @Bandar

How are you doing?

What are you recent observations on your project and how is it developing ?

What are changes most prominent in notes and importantly has the texture and look changed or is it the same as before?

Are you still following the 24H stirring and heating principal with few mins of oxygen replenishing and rest of the time in the dark place methodology?

any other observations?

Thank you

Ali
The topic has been updated by adding personal experience notes, and any useful comments are welcome

May the peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon you, welcome , in fact it is a very beautiful experience from which I have benefited a lot and I advise every person who loves perfume to take the initiative, the experience is about seven months long, during which the development in the scent is noticeable every month from before, so after seven months I do not find the animalic scent that was in the beginning, but the scent has developed into musky amber scents mixed with leathery, earthy, woody, incense and floral scents, and I expect that after twelve months the scent will develop with aging and be at better stages, I will not hide from you that I conducted experiments on aromatic oils and combinations by mixing Ghalia with oud oil and aromatic oils such as frankincense and Indian cardamom oils, and they were very beautiful, and now I have two different types of combinations, each of which is half a tola, which were well received by those around me, as for the consistency, the Ghalia molecules have become mixed with the soaking oils, I am still on the principle of weekly mixing and renewing the oxygen for it every week, but as for heating, I have stopped I do not recommend it except at the beginning of preparing the formula, and according to what I read in the preparation of the old Arab perfumes, they use it at the beginning before adding musk to dissolve the ambergris and mix it with the carrier oil over a low heat. We call it in the colloquial term cold ember, and then mix the mixture while it is hot. After it cools, musk is added to it for soaking. The formulas show stability, fragrance, and beautiful, different successive notes.

Salaam Brother Bandar,

that's a very detailed and lovely expression of the complete development, May Allah bless you with Baraka in your project and health and life endeavors.

Everything you describes sounds rather exquisite.

The addition of cardamom oil will be adding a unique sweet coldness to the mixture and will bring out a unique deep facet that will leave others in mystery of what this interplay actually is, I can imagine.

Good thought process and I wish you great development with it in the future.

As you rightly noted, time... giving everything time is single most beautiful and important facet in this whole art and defiantly discipline of following the process is the most essential aspect of work in this, as with everything else in life.

So much to learn from your keen thoughts and process and thank you again multiple times for sharing this all wholeheartedly.

Regards,
Ali

Thank you, my brother Ali, for the compliment. I am only a student in this field,
Yes, as you mentioned, now many perfumers, especially in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have a trend in the field of merging pure aromatic oils with oud oil and producing new scents that suit women and men, and also taking into account the targeted age groups, and even reaching the point of taking into account the regions and their nature, whether coastal, mountainous or desert.

Brother Bandar thank you for sharing. I wish you good luck and blessing in your journey. I have a question though : doesn’t the rose oil lose character when heated? You heated it multiple times for long hours, does this affect the rose? Is its top notes still present? Or gone?
