Took Ken’s Tarankan and Pursat incenses out for a spin today. I probably prefer KZ’s Tarankan for its bolder character. And I quite like the Pursat stick from Ken but Doc I had that wonderful sinking Cambodian with a bit of Kinam and it’s wonderful if you put it in a censor.

However I also tried Ken’s Sweet Lace (Mysore plus Timor Oud and bee propolis) and THAT one is a perfectly blended stick. He’s really something special with the blends.

An Ouddict told me that Shunkohdo Ranjatai smells similar to KZ’s Eight
Milleniums, at first I didn’t remember it to be so, but after trying to jog my memory,
I do see how very similar they are.
Good call bro!

Minorein Fu-In Sandalwood, Aloeswood, Frankincense and Kyara. All have this perfumic wet earth aroma which is indeed quite unique. Other part of the aroma is from the actual natural wood/resin itself. Sandalwood is very soft, agarwood is delicious, frankincense is more citrusy and kyara is some combustible wood.

Baieido's Tokusen Shukokohku

Agarwood, star anise, sandalwood, clove, borneol, patchouli, something musky... probably onycha.
there are more but I can't discern them.

sweet, salty, bitter, sour, umami.

a lot of ingredients in this incense are used in many Asian cuisines as well, so it's quite savoring.
very intriguing blend it is...

Nokiba (Moss Garden) by Shoyeido

Thought this would pair well with my SOTD (AG by Bogue), but its too sweet and not very green.

It's pleasant enough for the price, but not what I was looking for today so using it to scent my hallway instead.

Will burn something a little more refreshing later in the evening.

Minorein Fu-In Aloeswood
Minorein Fu-In Kyara
Minorein Fu-In Kyara Chokoh No. 5
Minorein Fu-In Kyara Ryugen

Burning one inch at a time. All of them lack the complexity and depth of high quality agarwood. But all of them are pleasant in their own ways. And as is usually the case with me, I can't decide which one I like the most...

Baieido Koh En
I ❤️ this blend using Hakusui
Vietnamese agarwood.

Baieido has other Vietnamese
agarwoods:
Ogurayama and Tsukigase,
I wonder what regions they all are from🧐
