Hey, guys. Would have loved to have you there. How are you feeling, @SteveE ? I had a great time, a bit nervous, because, you know, it’s the first time I was involved in such a large showing of my work, and there were a lot of people, I’d say around 30, a lot of sample-making, a lot of meeting great people, people with similiar interests, couples, students, doctors, other perfumers, people who are making blends themselves, people who are just getting into the craft. Great, funny, just nice couples, etc. Nadeem and Anas are both wonderful people in person, and great representations of their craft. I was impressed overall. It’ll be bigger next year for sure and I hope I can participate.
I tried a few compositions, perfumes by @Nadeem and @AlHind Oud , and, woah, did I feel exhilarated. As someone who has a been buying Serge Lutens since his how mid-life and someone into Roja Dove, Diptyque, Heely, MFK, Guerlain, Chanel, etc., I was amazed by their work and talent.
Misk composed by @Nadeem is a beautiful, musk-forward perfume that I sprayed on at 9:30 am on my left wrist and I promise you it was still strong when i was falling asleep last night at 8:30 pm. All you need is one or two sprays, anything more would be over-doing it, and you’re fueled easily by nature’s testosterone for 12 hours. An impressive feat of perfumery, especially when only naturals are used. This is something that is hard to do even if you used synthetics, let along all-naturals which tend to die down after 5 hours. As I heard him say, which is true, is that you’re never going to get an an-natural perfume to last as long as one that uses synthetics, it’s just not happening. But he does it in Misk.
And @AlHind Oud has one of the best rose/oud attars called Bilquis Al Ward, a wonderful co-distillation of an incense-ready kinam, fresh sandalwood, and hand-crafted oud in a shower of rose oil. He also had a very impressive line of sandalwoods, handmade, high quality, outstanding examples of what gift’s we have been given by God and Nature.
I highly recommend testing, and purchasing, Misk and Bilquis Al Ward before they are sold out. I know that Bilquis is 25% off on @AlHind Oud ’s website right now. I can’t remember the price of Misk, but spray-per-spray is more affordable than the initial hit, as it will last you a very long time—you need only use a little bit at a time.
Anyway, I was impressed by all the people I met, people from the boards, from other sites too. I was very glad to show off my wares as well, and got great feedback.
It wish to have met you guys too. But there’s always next year…and London in December.

A truly wonderful event!! Many thanx to the immense efforts of our vendors and organizers. There is an enormous amount of commitment and dedication that goes into setting up and facilitating even a small intimate event. I wish I could have stayed till the end and even begun to fully sample the treasures that were so painstakingly formulated and presented. @Joe , It was great to have met you and sample your offerings. Great to have some time with Br. Nadeem again! I never seem to even get started with sampling all that he brings with him... managed to round up some sinking Latey chips. Spent a considerable amount of time with Br. Annas from Al-Hind Oud. Picked up one of his Subitism Burners that seems to have all the crucial necessities that I have always wanted in a burner.
Best of all was meeting the many visitors that attended and shared their varying levels of "ouddiction".

As Joe mentioned, a diverse group of individuals from this forum, new oud users, experienced users, and even perfumers attended the event. It was truly unexpected given the short notice. It was a pleasure to meet Nadeem and Joe in person, and I even had the opportunity to test their products, although I had previously tried AlHashimi oils. QI NAM is great!
We were quite busy and had limited time to take pictures, but here are a few that we managed to capture. I don’t have any Joe’s pictures unfortunately, maybe Nadeem have some.

Glad to hear the medication is doing its temporary thing, now it’s time to find out what the cause is and stop it. Wish you were there too, and I wish a lot of other people came that couldn’t, sorely missed. But I did meet a lot of people, from all sorts of backgrounds.
It was a great success given the short time we had to organise. In the end we sold 41 tickets (compared to 38 in Dubai, although due to BeautyWorld Dubai, around 70-80 people showed up on the day) and just under 40 people came. Half of them were not even on this forum and had never heard of Ouddict. The ScentExpo site will be updated on the weekend with photos.
