Dear All
If you had messaged me here or in DM, and you didn't get a bottle please DM.
I need to grab that please! Where can i find that in the valley? And how about Rose Cream or Rose Butter? 🙂When the petals have been distilled, the farmers then feed the spent matter to the cows and the result is a beautiful full cream rose scented milk
ASO did have a bottle of Taif Rose for me. I’ll send you some as thanks for your generosity 🌺I should have made it more clear as I was referring to everyone/anyone. Edited the post accordingly.
Very kind of you to do that for @Mr.P I am sure he will enjoy it. He loves that profile of rose, it's his favourite.ASO did have a bottle of Taif Rose for me. I’ll send you some as thanks for your generosity 🌺
Fantastic Taif rose! You are kind to give me a call out, a favorite indeed! I am but a babe when it comes to really fine rose - just cutting my teeth, at the stage where deferring to the expertise of others is the most helpful. This Rose is of a category which I have not earned the experience to evaluate beyond saying "amazing stuff!" Same with all of these amazing super high end ouds I have smelled - beyond my ability to rank them, yet I can endorse them without reservation.Very kind of you to do that for @Mr.P I am sure he will enjoy it. I do hear from Bluemoon every now and then, that would have certainly been our Taifi.Fantastic Taif rose! You are kind to give me a call out, a favorite indeed! A mutual acquaintance of our shared a sample of what I think was your Taif Rose over a decade ago (remember Bluemoon?). I visited her at her amazing Manhattan pad, and she showed me some amazing beautiful clean citrusy Taifi - I think it was a bottle of your oil in fact because that sample you sent me was like a direct connection back to that experience.
Will age cause a loss in the top notes so much associated with roses?
I was fortunate enough to meet a vendor in Dubai that had two types of authentic unadulterated Taifi oil. This years and last years. The newer harvest one was $1500 for a tola and the previous harvest to that was $1000 a tola.
I was told that with Taifi newer is better unlike oud that gets better with age. Hence the price difference.
Would anyone care to elaborate more on this? Is age that much of a negative impact to reduce the price by that much? The newer oil did have more lemon zest at opening and seems to hold that zesty lemon longer but the older harvest was still magnificent. The two swipes on my arm had great transition and amazing dry down.
Could it just be this companies philosophy, to lower the prices with older stock… I would be happy with either oil. Simply marvelous.
I agree 100%. I've bought some vintage rose ottos and the only one I cared for was MesOUD's 1995 Bulgarian--someone stored that correctly.I can only speak to my own experience but the fresher the better as far as I'm concerned.
