Picked up a sample of this oil recently and it is absolutely stunning. Looking to acquire 1gm or more for the right price, or something from another vendor/distiller/artisan with a similar profile. Not even sure what region this comes from.
As I am a huge yet new fan to oud oils, I’m not sure...
Just curious everyone, After you have let those precious Oudh chips simmer to the point of no return on the subitism burner
do you save them for using on the charcoal disk ?
I'm guessing there are some who just turn the burner up to the point of igniting and incinerating the chips right there

OK So Its not exactly freezing out anymore here in the midwest, and the lovely scents from a recent order from Habzoud are making me brave.
So I warmed up the tiny tiny little sample of Ensar's Oud Mostafa. and applied the tinest os a swab on one wrist. Its mighty fecal and barnyardy.

‘Papua New Guinea- Rare Nuggets and Tiger Tooth'
"Oudh from this region is very rare and when it is eventually found it is not very appealing as they are usually recovered incorrectly from the bottom of lakes. These wonderful nuggets from Papua New Guinea were not from bottom of lakes but were...
‘Jibaal- Towering Oudh'
"Greeting your olfactory senses with a cloudy waft of leather JIBAAL bedazzles you into thinking you have the most clean Nagaland laal(red) Oudh but before your thought is complete it moves swiftly onto a deep dark ripe fruit note which is synonymous to the heydays of...
Today is a special day.
After many weeks of careful deliberation on whether this rare gem which is a true treasure should be released, I humbly present to you AL MALEK AL MALAKI The Angelic King. An Oudh specimen of the highest grade AL MALEK AL MALAKI is a work of love, a life’s companion, the...
Has anyone tried/or bought oud from Hikayat Fragrances? (previously known as OudHub)
They are based in Malaysia and have connections with Taha (Agar Aura); he was the perfumer for a couple of their attars.
I'm actually interested in their oud oil Karas Utama.
Thanks

The second oud I’ve ever smelled.
Some time ago there was a national news story. At last, proof of Bigfoot had been found! Some huntsmen had come across a specimen, a carcass really. They hastily displaced some frozen peas and tater tots (ok, that part’s...
New batch of really nice value wood up in the shop. Picked up a large batch, kept the best, and sold off the rest. Price on these is a reflection of value and passed the savings on to you :)

After all, time has to drift away, but the experiences stay forever! This year remained more than significant for me as it brought certain unknown spheres of fragrances to me. Beyond known ‘artisanal and traditional worlds’, there is fragrant life too, enchanting and enthralling.
This year, I...

This was written 2 years ago by Olivier Schneider.
I just reread this as he reposted it on FB. Really resonated with me as I feel the same way about Oud and Incense as he does about Tea.
Enjoy :)

Fantastic series about harvesting various Chinese Medicine materials. Visually stimulating and tons of great info - hope you understand why some things are so rare or costly, not to mention the amount of work that goes into their production.

Beautiful beast, smoky oud, not due to the heated resin of Aroha Kayaku but by nature of the Sumbawan oud that's in this. It also has fruitiness coming from the other ouds of Cambodian and Thai origin that gives it a sweet and playful aspect to it amidst the dark and deep plumes of smoke. This...
