Tsukigase Vietnamese oud from Baieido. Purchased in 2005 more or less. This is an enjoyable, clean, bitter-sweet fragrance. entering the room after it’s been allowed to diffuse, there are wafts of balsam poplar, beeswax, labdanum. the wood fibers radiate a wonderful, clean, warm vanillin once the oil and resin has finished their parts.

One thing I look very closely for is any kind of unclean or fecal scent in wood chips. Honestly, I detest it and even a little bit of it ruins the experience for me. This wood is absolutely clean and delightful from start to finish.

last night I was burning some Borneo wood from Al Hashimi. I'd bought a cheap £3 loupe (lol) on ebay and was watching the resin pour out "in HD" - very interesting. Can't fault it for that price, I had a bit of eye strain though to look into the small eye hole from a distance while closing one eye.
Wood smelled incredible
