Been heating wood again the last few days. Yesterday I started with some Sabah that definitely smelled like oils I have from the region. Next was Cambodia - Pursat. I just got a kinda generic agarwood/anise smell from this. Thought maybe my nose was burnt out from not heating wood for awhile.

So today I started with the Pursat. Still kinda boring. I guess it doesn't have much oil in it. After that I went with Oudimentary - Cambodi Select. This has a really nice smell. Way better than the pursat. I don't really order from Oudimentary anymore due to all the issues I have had with them. I think they have screwed up every single order I placed with them. Its a shame because I have read that they were pioneers of bringing oud to the west back in the day.

Today I heated a number of woods but my favorite was a sample from Ish when I placed my last order with RBO. Just a baggie with no name. Had a nice spicy/woody/oudh smell. It didn't smell like sandalwood but reminded me of it in a way. I had to put the temperature up pretty high to get scent out of it. Still have more left so I'll definitely have to try it again soon.
