I woke up very early this morning; blue sky, birds singing, soft sunlight, it’s beautiful morning in Melbourne. Still not hot tho haha.
My favourite thing to do is to make coffee, go into the study, turn on the heater & put on a small chip. The scent of Oud, while staring out the window sipping coffee. It’s these small moments that makes life worth living!

Only time for a brief note. Just put some splinter of the Malinau wood I got from Wardlab. This is such nice wood… thick enveloping minty oud cloud that captivates the senses and calms the mind. This is something I love on par with kyara. This aroma reminds me one of the rikoku woods (Sasora) in my Baieido set. Hope to get an oil with this vibe some day. I have a little of the old Borneo 3000 and it is of the same rough category of oud

I’m back to say that ward lab malinau is still going strong. I flipped the pieces. I flip them back. I turned up the heat. I crumbled them up. I turned up the heat again. I stirred them up. The room just keeps smelling so freaking good now it’s in some kind of peppery spicy phase that I didn’t smell at all in the opening. Oh man to have an oil that followed this progression would be the bee’s knees (which I hear are especially nice)

One of my favourites. Beautiful old Malaysian Oud, a very attractive wood; a reddish hue, black stripes of resin, dense hard pieces. Florals, spices (anise), vanilla, deeply resinous & dark. It smells antique, I imagine the tree it was harvested from was old. It has the aroma of woods from yesteryear.

Wild Sumbawa from Mesoud. This one is so nice, feels the air with A thick scent. keeps going as well and this is on a cheap heater!( while I wait for a new proper heater as I have moved to a place coal can’t be used). will try and review it properly when new heater comes! Definitely have to try and stock up a bit on this one.
