Burn of the Day

A small piece of you know what for my daily burn here on the DIY WabiSabiTism. This is the smaller of my two units and only needs 9 V to reach the proper temperature. Beautiful ethereal acacia and honey and flowers. 🙂

KZ Premium Hainan Aloes Powder

According to KZ this is left over powder from a commissioned batch of sticks.

I had to crank up the heat to get the most from this powder, my Hainan’s like to bloom at higher heat. The profile is definitely Hainan, but can’t compare to heating the wood itself, like the Baotou. My main concern is wether to stock up or not, I ask that with every oudh I try. In this case, I choose not to stock up, but that’s mainly because I already have plenty of Hainan oudh, and that this powder is not exceptional.

This and the Baotou powder are the two that really responded well to a good amount of time with not much going on, on a low heat for a whole sess and then coming back the next day to a high heat. Was like night and day.
 
Miki Lee - Kynam Shavings

Heating some shavings on the ceramic burner that came as part of sawing off some near sinking quality Kynam. Cut 3 pieces from one piece of Oud. And there’s still more to saw off. So I’ll do it as needed.

Smells wonderfully vanillic and honey-ish.

using an improvised version of one of those tea light incense burners that I used to use pretty regularly. One gets tired of constantly having to hustle to buy more tea lights, so I've got this variation with a ring stand, a pewter oil lamp that I found in an antiques
shop, and a wire mesh. This one is good for a robusto style burn... that ring stand needs a going over with some steel wool.

Fawn Horn - Double and triple super Kynam

Anyone notice any difference? The AA is actually very good. But I bought the AAA because I remember it was longer lasting and had more oud soaked in it.
