A few slivers of Feel Oud's 2017 sinking Laotian chips on the new Subitism Burner from @AlHind Oud putting it through the motions love the way they have anticipated temperatures on the dial. Will do an in depth review as soon as I stop acting like a child with a new toy and grab a pen and some paper.

New toys are always fun and occupy our time in the best of ways.

Back to heating after break for a while.

Kangiiten - Ceram powder. Didn't take much encouragement to get this powder really singing loudly. I can only heat it in small sessions of a couple of minutes each as it's quite nose numbing. Barely took 5 mins to go nose blind to it. Magical stuff though.

Kangiiten Pontianak again - can’t believe I slept on this. So pleasant with the sweet and slightly sour vanilla-oudy berries. The pieces turn black straight away and even start to bubble a little. Gets stronger and stronger the more you heat it - several sessions from one small pinch. Easily beats the Kangiiten Philippines, which doesn’t smell very oudy at all…more like heating bits of old furniture 😅

Light himalayan juniper powder on the kangiiten stencil burner. Love this scent - reminds me of these Korean juniper incense sticks that some retailers in the US carried for a while there. Some special rare type of cedar, but this smells quite similar. The stencil is pretty good but maybe a little bit small, it's kind of hard to get a perfect impression for me.

I have the same stencil and I agree. It is a bit small. I was just looking for a new one the other day as I always seem to have issues keeping the powder in it's shape when lifting it away. Having shaking hands doesn't help.

So now we are breaking out the stencils .... this really motivates me to up my game. LoL ... thanks for the pic @Mr.P !!
In the meantime I'll just light me up a stick of Processed Philippines form Dr. Incense and sip on some Formosa Red Assam.
Now where did I stash my stencils.......

I love the stencils / powder trail type burning in general because it's the best way to make and try incense blends. Grab a few herbs grind them up combine them with a little bit of sandalwood or oud powder and off you go. not every trail burns well of course... helps to have a nice bed of ash underneath
