Burn of the Day

Been having this same thought lately. I really enjoy most incense more broken up and heated than burned.

Dreams of Malinau - Kangiiten. I know this is an incense but I'm not treating it as such. Combusted as a stick is a total waste. Some woods just really shouldn't be burnt as the nuance is too fine and the burnt wood overall note is overbearing. Grinding it up into a granular form and then heating a small pile on the sub turns these sticks into something else entirely. I mean, the profile of this Malinau is simply stunning. Sweet, woody, vanillic. A little of that dusty library vibe. Fills the room effortlessly and yet not a whisp of smoke to be seen. @crigg I must share some of this with you at some point.

Preach! Fully agree with you. I am not a sticks guy (yet)…but the few sticks I have all smell better heated in crumbs or small lengths than burned.
