Went whole day with no Oud was a Vetiver kind of day

So Had to end the day wit a low heat session of :

EO Sinking Ceram --- purple florals initially and as u move up the temp for me it gets slightly darker and more woody.. this is a good piece of wood ... though the resin doesn't bubble etc but the scent profile is very good and pleases my nose.

Al hashimi mindanao nugs
Wonderful full spectrum resin packed cummingiana. Similar but different enough from the other mindanao wood I have from taha. More base and thick, green jungle forest floor notes, and darker honey. Sick stuff. Wish I had a kilo

Kohgen Jinkai

It is spiced similarly to a Kyukyodo yellow stick, but with definitely more agarwood.

Jinkai is a sort of fruity Vietnamese agarwood, and at KZ’s site, Jinkai is made from soil agarwood.

Baieido Koh en (Vietnamese)

This stick is most like the Jinkoh Kokoh, but with a more appropriate use of medicine/herbs.

Nice stick!

Another nice stick........no.......
make that Very Nice! is the Kenneth Cannata
Brunei Agarwood* stick.
Rich use of agarwood, while maintaining a good burn rate. It leaves a cloud of aroma lingering in the air. This is a natural agarwood aroma genre (no added aromatics), and there is a creaminess to the profile. A black stick (charcoal), and the binder is barely noticeable. Good job! for his initial agarwood offering.

*Brunei agarwood sourced from Kyarazen.

I'm looking forward to his collection... specially his Agarwood, Sandalwood and Frankincense ones

KZ - Sulawesi Cumingiana

This wood took me back 20 years to my grandmother's house. Where I use to see my grandmom and her sister put fresh tobacco powder in their teeth ... this fresh tobacco note so so nostalgic for me and I really enjoyed it on a low temp.. as u increase the temp u get wet green notes with some woody presence ... and when u pump it more ... there is tobacco oudiness ...

The green one is true Sulawesi profile, in my view. Stay fragrant!

Incense Master (Dr. Incense) Sinking Tarakan

The aroma is so thick.......
I could cut it with a knife[emoji23][emoji23]
Did u get this months Dr's Malinau sticks? He seems to have outdone himself with the Oud content in these ... he actually posted a video on how to burn them because they take time to light Hahaha

Oh Yes!
I got some sinking Malinau🙄
So much resin that the sticks have to be relit.....I could live with the inconvenience of relighting the stick, especially when the cause is too much resin.

I am eager to try them, and eager to try the Five Rivers also. I was forward to ask ASO for a sliver of the Maleki agarwood😱, so I could heat it and discover. Couldn’t hurt to ask right?😀

Speaking of asking....I asked Fupenglee why he does not use charcoal in his sticks. He replied that he does not use charcoal because, “the charcoal will inhibit the energy”, “I prefer more natural styles, but cannot tell you the detail”. Okay, now that’s got me straight curious, and all the more inquisitive. I will have to do more research, and or experimentation.

Anyhow, just had a heating session with AH Maluku Malaki.
Full spectrum performance!!
From gently heating to room fumigation, all that aroma from a one inch circle of ground slivers.
I did not focus on the notes, because I was quite busy in my mind, but the psychoactive factor was way up there😵😕
Next session I will concentrate on the notes

And then let the wood smoulder for hours.

Here’s a pic of a wider subitism style nichrome / mica heating element I made yesterday. I can place these longer sandalwood chips (see box on left) and they are heated perfectly. It’s nice having more surface to scatter chips / herbs over when making impromptu blends. Takes a bit more voltage to get it up to smoking though.

Looking a bit messy, but here are some little mini logs getting nicely toasted. I can scent my room for an hour or two. Gets very sweet and maple/vanilla at the stage you see here.
