I started my day with Minorien Fu - in Kyara 2.5inch stick, doing stick Kodo/Listening to stick, in bed. Now I have some Kaden Kobunboku on right now, which I will make future posts about, since I need to get back into experiencing this stick more and more again, the aloeswood in Kaden is lovely, it is definitely Vietnamese, and has those berry notes... I could continue but I want to talk about Fu-In Kyara.

With Fu-in Kyara, you get mostly very high quality aloeswood with a small amount of wild Kyara 2-5% and possibly some wild Shin-Kyara as well, and definitely oil, of what kind I could only guess it to be their in house Nha Trang oil, since it is a Kyara stick. The stick is nice and woody, mainly sweet but has sour notes to it, quite intense florals drop in and out, but are mostly fixed there after the stick stabilises. There is no dry woodiness, but there is notes of wood, as there is oil in the stick giving that "wet" impression that all Fu-in sticks have. There was also some slight minitness to the the whole stick as well, especially near the end. I only got a Mini Box to do stick Kodo with before I buy the 2nd biggest box, and then when I have enough money, I will buy the larger box with 100 in them for £75.99... to be used as a background stick (but not too often) while doing things, I just wanted to get familiar with this stick first.

Digging through the archive box.....

Yamadamatsu: Hyofu
Clean, with a sweet aquatic breeze fragrance that stunned me the first time I tried it.
Agarwood, frankincense, and as some have said; a cool melon note.
A rejuvenating fountain hidden in a forest grove.
Very economic and beginner friendly.
A nice one to share with friends that want to learn about incense.

Seijudo's Kyara Enju. This incense is absolutely incredible, so so, sooo hard to put into words it cannot explain it good enough at all. I was listening to this incense intently of course as it is DEFINITELY not an incense you put in the background, the notes I got were way different from any other aloeswood sticks at all, it feels like Kyara is a different thing all together now that i have dipped my toes into it. I was getting a sweet floral note/effect, sour and sour and salty, salty and sweet with florals, mintiness with florals and without florals, the mintiness was quite soft but sometimes kinda strong a piercing, sour with florals and without, a nice spiciness with a cooling "air" type effect that iori was talking about and now I get it, it was like wisps of fresh air in the stick. It also feels like, even with your mouth shut that I was "tasting" or feeling every scent/note in my mouth. It is just incredible. I can't explain this. Lol.

Kyara is a true gem of nature!!! Maybe from aliens too? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I can also see now the difference between CK and Wild Kyara, but I can also see the similarities too.

Absolute banger.

Tough to follow up Enju, but today I'm burning from the other end of the incense universe anyways.

Ba’er Qude Si Monastary Tibetan stick. Spice forward, some multi-ingredient complexity to keep it interesting. Classic example of a nicely composed entry level stick. Real nostalgia going on here for me.
Very friendly price, too.

I have snapped a few sticks into quarters and halves, and have a few full ones left, thinking of snapping 2 again, or should I leave some full ones?
I like to leave them as they are and just snuff them out if I feel I've had enough of them. If I break them down then perhaps during one session I'd be wishing the stick I was just enjoying had lasted another minute or two.
