while the STP uses the recipe to smell like kyara.

Baieido Kohshiboku Long Stick from Kohgen

I’m beginning to like this as much as the original formula. Another stick that is winning me over is a newer batch of Tennendo Enkuu, a little fruity floral with a dash of ambergris note.

Kohgen Jinkai


Smells like a Kyukyodo signature, but with less spice and more agarwood.

The Jinkai is supposedly soil agarwood.

I got a 5 stick sampler at the time, but now the samplers are sold out. What remains is the large box @ $500. I wish they had a small box.
Anyhows, I’ll just wait for more artisanal stick releases, they’re usually more potent.

Now this is real strange......
after a 3 swipe session with Satori Fusho earlier this day, when I smell Myo-Ho, it reminds me very much of Satori Fusho

Dr. Incense Kalimantan and Malinau

They are fairly similar except that the Malinau has a creamy base with fruitiness and the Kalimantan a tad citrus with florals.

Both are quite oudy

This is where the agarwood gets turned up within the Superior series

I’m picking up that Kynam combustion note in this stick.

WSG Hainanese

Underneath the smoke, lies the Hainan agarwood goodness. I don’t have any Hainan chips, but I wish I had some of the chips that went into this stick.

Baieido Kunsho

Not as much borneol and medicinal herbs as the other sticks in this line, which results in a lower tone with more of the woods coming through, plus a little sweetness, but I’m not sure if the sweetness is from the agarwood or other aromatic resins.

kinamic with added beauty.

Heavenly Orchard is a good name for it.

Shunkohdo Kyara Seikan

One of my favorites,
hardly Kyara at all
but very aloeswoodsy
sometimes I think there is musk in it
or maybe even....the tiniest amount
of ambergris, but that’s unlikely.

I wish I wasn’t such a procrastinator,
because I have all the ingredients I need to make
incense, even musk and ambergris,
but at the same time, work keeps me busy

Mostly a woody profile.
I wonder if the recipe was created as an impression of the famous Ranjatai piece of agarwood in Japan.
