I put a little bit of ruh gulab (red rose, R. indica from Uttar Pradesh) into this nice mini fragrance diffuser pendant that somebody gave to my daughter several years ago and she had no interest in.
Seems well designed, a heavy knurled metal bottle with a metal orifice reducer that screw screws on and prevents spills while allowing a little bit to diffuse out or to be shaken out. As you can see there is a larger cap that fits over the small orifice reducer that has an open scroll work lattice. The piece came with a couple of small foam blocks that more or less fill the empty space behind the scrollwork to catch any drips that come out and I'll have them to diffuse from the pores of the foam. We will see how it holds up, I I'm sure I will be replacing that foam with a natural material, certain parts of elecampane roots are porous and chalky for example. There are plenty of plants around here that have a nice spongy pith to their stems (elderberry being the prime example that was literally used for its pith).
I picked the Rose I did because it has unusual diffusive tangy notes that i don't get clearly from damascenas but this note is very much true to the essence of rose flowers themselves, it's not like a raspberry note or some oddball terroir - just a unique concentration of some slightly different aspects of what I smell in fresh roses
