The Dark Knight has been very kind and generous to have put together for a sample set of various types of woods from Vietnam. This will go great on my new sub!
I sent some samples of agarwood from Vietnam and Southeast Asia (Laos, Malaysia) for some members at Ouddict to explore further. The classification methods in my country may differ from those in Japan or China, but in Vietnam, we identify and categorize agarwood based on its origin and the characteristics that create its aroma or resin. This allows us to recognize the specific origin or unique scent of each agarwood sample.
Similar to how we name each type of agarwood from different regions, we don't solely rely on their colors. For instance, red soil of Fusen and yellow soil Khanh Hoa are examples of our classification, where the names are based on more than just the color of the agarwood, because each region may be have many kinds of incense with the same color.

Already in my possession, can’t let my eyes off of it. The ‘Mysore Black Meat’. It’s little over a kg log.
That’s a beauty!

Man AliExpress is starting to look to me like eBay did back in the early 90s… you could tell there was stuff to be had there you would have a hard time finding affordably any other way, you knew you’d end up with some junk at some point, but the rewards seemed worth the gamble.

I’m not a gambler, but I am a forager, and there is something appealing about seeking out the good stuff in the wilderness of the market. My sense is that ck oil is “in season” so I am going to see what I can find…

NineRegions is a pretty good shop for the most part. The best I've come across so far on that platform. Am yet to try their oils though.

His Hainan co2 from wild wood is pretty good, esp for the low the price. Good aroma that lasts a long time and easy to swipe a ton of since it's so cheap. It's a co2 so don't expect an artisanal oud journey from it. The cultivated kinam co2 is ok but fairly flat as basically all CK co2 oils are that I've seen. The other oils are a miss for me.

Got my package from @Maunamoku, I even bought a chisel set and slanted knife set to cut the Walla Patta, Red Soil perfectly, I will practice on the sandalwood I have. Here's the pics:

Only tried the Mysore incense, and those are some of the nicest Mysore incense I have had the chance to smell 🙂 Thank you, Maunamoku 😉

I'll check it out. Have only stuck to their woods and incense so far which I like. I wish the shipping was a bit better though as having to wait so long to get anything from China gives me too much time to buy other things in the interim lol.

My Kangiiten Special Reserve Mysore (Mysuru) Sandalwood oil came 😀 around 1.5-2 weeks or so of waiting I finally have a chance to try it. Will post in the sandal of the day when I put it on 🙂 EDIT: I also asked on KyaraZen Facebook, since people were arguing/debating/wondering about it, why it was cloudy.
