Agar Aura - Kinam Attar
Oh yeah, I scored a bottle of this and it is phenomenal.
Vanilla and spicy oud resin notes all the way down. Five hours in and still a long, consistent hum. Not smoky or tobacco at all, nor fruity like crassnas or green like walla patta.
Hard to pin down more notes, need to spend time with this one.

Does it smell like Kinam?

Le Rayon Vert / Sultan Pasha. Beautiful green morning.

I’ve been wearing Sultan’s attars for years now and I have a tola of Rayon Vert, which is powerful, used sparingly, and a little galbanum exploding treasure. But there quite a few treasures among his work. I find myself returning again and again to his queer little Cuir de Russie with its potent white ambergris backbone. How does Chypre Chrysanthem differ from Rayon Vert?

I actually get a lot of similarities between the two but less galbanum in CC, it’s less potent. There’s almost a grape skin/apple note. None of the cigarette note that I get in LRV.

wearing Cheval D’Arabie right now and it just blows my mind every single time.

Well, I don't have any to do a direct comparison. Taha says it's supposed to smell like Brunei "white" kinam, and I suppose that's right in line with the profile based on my memory of EO's White Kinam. Will try to dig out the sample vial and sniff the inside later to see if I'm right.
So...yes, probably - and if it doesn't, it's good enough to fool my untrained nose.
The "Soryo no Kaori" is also excellent, though the cypress/hinoki notes stick around longer than I would like. Fine stuff though.

Taha has got a pretty good nose, no doubt Kinam Attar will have a kinamic aspect, and since Kinam is not a single note, and we’re talking Brunei Kinam here......and possibly a Vietnamese and Cambodian Kinam in the future, then different aspects of Kinam will be represented. Even with Kyara, there is not just one type:Cooler:

Just got Tyson's first fraction royal green hojari. I have to admit I wasn't 100% sure what to expect because I've got a lot of frankincense essential oil and generally I like it a little bit and nowhere near like the resin.

This is a very nice oil and at first when I smelled it I thought it was going to be just another freshly distilled frankincense but I do feel there's something different about this one. It's a certain lingering peppery quality, and a tangy tart note along with a sort of dry cool sensation. This lingering residue, whose duration and I cannot predict because I have just applied this for the first time, is really delightful. Almost wish I had ordered more but I'm not the kind of guy who drops 100 bucks on frankincense oil...

Now this is especially not directed at Tyson But every time I read some long diatribe about some Artisanal product that's been squeezed out of the ass of an angel, from the rarest region collected by a personal team of the most skilled hunters with the greatest care for nature and organic agriculture, fighting past evil big wigs, Distilling using top secret rare artisanal heirloom methods never conceived of before by any mere scientist, I just want to shoot myself.

But Tyson here delivers. His description straight up told me what I was getting in his product, no BS, what he's describing is what he personally does. His products are outstanding - I'm not a spiritual guy but I believe his spiritual focus leads him to approach this with high integrity.

I chanced upon a really interesting combination. I have some Thai oils from various vendors and many of them have a certain sour / sweet cloying note that I find kind of sickening. This is most evident in the top note and after a while and it fades oil is more pleasant. A bit of ambrette seed co2 transformed a Thai oil i layered it with. Combination smells very similar to a Cambodian oils I acquired long ago. So much so that I'm kind of pleased because I have almost run out of that Cambodi and have now found a substitute for it

If you have some Thai ouds that are rubbing you the wrong way try layering with ambrette and you may be pleasantly surprised
