Respected Bryan, which one is the dominant one? I feel Ceylon Royale will be the leader as my experiences shows that Sri Lankan Oud infuses blue ocean vibes if blended in any other oil/s.

Have you tried newly launched Sultan Red Rose Attar (EO)?
Walla patta ocean dominate blend. The two Royales compete.

I own srr. It is fabulous. Very complex wonderful dark rise with a special musk and ouds having the backbone

I will be truly thankful if you review it in the proper section "Oud/ Attar Reviews". It will give a better idea to people like me. Thanks and thanks. Especially 'red rose' profile, the area this rose belongs to, and the dominant note/s, and auxiliary note/s.

My ignorance and beginners nose makes me reluctant to offer reviews most of the time, but put forth my humble opinions when asked.

Oud Patchouli. A blend of aged Patchouli, Rose and Ouds. Intense spicy sweet Patch. Tantalising Ouds. The Mids would improve with aging. The dry down has the epic, magical whiffs of Aren Sung. Anyone could guess that oil blindly the moment it takes over, the blend transcends to another dimension. Natural materials can do wonders. Those who missed Arem Sung please don’t miss this one. You will know why when that Arem Sung hits you like a silent whisper holding time to ransom. Haha. Well done Zak bhai. Really needed something with quality patchouli. I don’t know why but it’s a very underrated and underexploited natural material. An old patchouli is a perfume on its own!

Oud Gulfam by AAs today. Raw. Natural. Satisfying. Indian Oud does magic to attars. I dont know why but lately I have been only enjoying Upper Assam ouds in blends not individually. I am enjoying more of the Malays, Borneo, Walla lately as Ouds but above all I love burning Oud pieces. Been away from home these 2 weeks and I am so badly missing the burn sessions. Sorry to deviate but friends I need advice on AbdesSalem Attars? Are they proper?

I've bought a couple of his perfumes which are most refined. His creations are all-natural; not even a minuscule amount of aromachemicals. He even sells many of his perfumes in attar-form and has any thinkable EO in various concentrations in store as well. My favourite so far is his Mecca Balsam which is a smoky and spicy creation based on frankincense, nutmeg and oud.

Wow thanks a ton Markus

Have you or anybody else, for that matter, tried more of their attars? Prices seem suspiciously low for quality attars.
I recently received a sample set (of 30) from br Abdullah. So far (amongst 10-12) I liked Al Khidr, Tsuga, Muska Maharajah, Regolith, and Junos IV Vangladessa.

His Tsuga attar was mentioned in the a recent Basenotes article "The Murky Matter of Musk" by Claire Vukcevic. In it Abdullah also showed how to make a deer musk maceration with sandalwood.

I have no reason to doubt him as he categorically mentioned to me that he only uses naturals and that if he uses any synthetic he will mention it.

If you contact him via email/eBay for a sample set, I'm sure he'll send it to you. They're quite different in a positive way. So worth a try.

PS: attar name corrected & Basenotes article linked!

Louk Mao by Ameenroma Aromatics. I'm trying so hard to like this. There's a dusty overtone to it that is not only displeasing, but actually makes me sad. And I can tell that there's a nice Vietnamese oud lurking underneath there! I have been rescuing it by mixing it with the free sample of Authentic White Musk which Ameenrooma sent along. This makes things brighter and happier.

Hi @GalileoFigaroMagnifico, I try so hard to understand how to make "authentic" white musk with authentic musk grains using 0 synthetic ...

I bought once from that company, I did'nt like my purchase but it was a cheap oil and the seller was really nice to talk with so I have nothing to complain ...

I'm under no illusions about its likely "authenticity", but it smells nice 😀

May I ask which one you got? I don't know if the "dusty"note I mentioned is inherent to the wood or a flaw of the distillation or just age.

I agree it smelt nice I had it too.
It was a cheap borneo semi solid (don't think it's pure but the seller did'nt mentioned about purity).
It had that dusty old velvet smell too if you were refering to this ...
