wearing nahawand 3 by elixir tonight. it’s very hard to parse the attar into specific notes as the blending is so top notch. definitely sandalwood and resinous warm spices with a musky quality. the totality of which has a very specific almost sandy feeling, it’s not golden but a sandy hue of middle eastern delights that is very enveloping. not quite gourmand but also doesn’t fit into any other category easily. if you had asked me i’d have no idea this contained ambergris, which is the inspiration for the series. i find animalics can shift so much depending on what surrounds them. this shares more or less nothing in common with nahawand 2 besides maybe the sandalwood in the base to my nose, which is all about oozy vanillic amber with huge florals. another favorite of mine, but the juxtaposition of the use of ambergris between the two is also quite incredible.

Any opinions on the best Khus oil available now? Been looking for the khus by tabeer Oud that is mentioned in this thread, but can’t seem to find it. Looking for an alternative.
Try to get in touch with Mr.Zakir from Ahom oud, I had their Ruh Khus, its been 2 yrs and enjoy its aging profile.

Have received some KHus from Mr Ansari as a sample in my recent order.
The KHus is is in tandem with a mitti attar....together they encompass a very rainy earth scent with all the fragrance of a rainy downpour in warm weather....

Sultan Pasha's Basmati Rose.

stunning! what a surreal rice accord it is!
I'm blown away by the unexpected combination of rose and rice.
I didn't expect them to go well with each other but Sultan did a wonderful job here.
100% coziness and comfort in a bottle... I can't agree more than his word.
it's a wonderful art of work it is.

I was amazed at the sheer acuracy of the rice note itself. The whole composition is beautiful no doubt but that rice note man, will get one looking for it in the bottle .

rose loban for the evening from ahom oud one can describe it as rose set in resin, its petals and stem present and immortalized alongside glowing warmth, imagine smelling a rose through this resin that is what you get, brings about pictures of holy temples and burning incense

Wearing Anna Zworykina's HUE for the day.
I can't believe how good all her creations are, especially this one. I've never smelled anything like HUE in the world of perfumery. This is a perfume for art's sake, not something to wear in public. Complex, layered, and transportive. All-natural and high-quality ingredients, insane talent, and blending of these. She is criminally underrated!!!

Not tried HUE but 'Without Words' and 'Secret Dreams' were my favourites from the ones I have sampled. Her Cuir de Russie is also another winner for those who like its many iterations!

At times my mind wonders, and for those times Agar Auras green kyara is what I used to ground my self, Menthol streams rush through my mind pulling through rocks of spices with vanilla floating over clear mirror like streams.
