Well I'm not really burning it but ~ I got this wild fusen red soil from KyaraShrine that I'm obsessed with at room temperature. But I can't seem to get anything out of it on the warmer. I just snort it which is disappointing. Can anyone recommend any earthy substitutions?

I have the same one I got it recently as well. I'm using a sub at about 14v iirc to get a bit of scent. It's not gonna bubble any oil but it does produce a nice sent for quite a while. Soil wood is weird. I do have some from Indonesia that is actually really good full of oil but most of the soil just kind of emits an odor without much visual activity.

most of those soils have little to no oil, the ones with more oils expensive "talking about fusen"
try to powder it and start low head up until you see scent, i know some start at 90c-120 with certain soil wood.

this morning it's been a hodgepodge of Soil woods. Some really interesting Silani soil from @MrK and now onto a pretty oily Sabah Soil from Oliver at Guru Aromatix in GB.

Burn of the night is a weird one, really amazing Merauke Soil wood that is so dense it's like old leather. Can't post a short clip, oh well, see it on insta lol

There is distinct progression of top, middle, and base notes. The top is my favorite, but the middle and base notes show me why the Japanese Incense Houses prefer Vietnamese aloeswood to make incense sticks.
