Shoyeido Sho-kaku
Found a couple of boxes in Japan last month in a very lucky encounter. The smell is absolutely divine. It burns unlike any other incense I've burned before. I want to sell a box or two (at two sticks or so per person) in the marketplace but I need to get my posts up to 150 first. Stay tuned.

@vermillion I'm happy for you that you found an almost extinct rare breed!
Thank you! I burned the older formulation tonight, which comes in a plastic box. There were many sharp kyara top notes present despite its age. And even the way the stick looks when done burning, it is unlike any other stick I've burned before (above it in the picture are Craft Incense and Dr. Incense sticks post-burn)

Wow, I’ve never seen the plastic box version, I’d love to see a picture of that box to see what designs they used back then.
There's supposed to be a plastic cover over the old one but it was broken/discarded by the previous owner. I spent the majority of my trip budget on the boxes I got. Excited to share them with the community eventually. These things were damn near impossible to find

Wow, I’ve never seen that either.
there is even big box abit similar to ones seijudo use for biggest pack with kind of lock on the side and some without, sadly i never seen it lots probably 1-2 times years ago..and i believe it have around 80 sticks
pretty sure if someone goes to japan and search good would come with nice results but it would need time xd

If anyone has a picture of this I'd love to see it. It's difficult to find pictures and info on Shokaku (amongst others) as most of its online presence is recorded in Japanese
i'll do when i find it =)
