Shoyeido Gaho ( refinement) with my morning coffee and pre sunrise reading routine.
I’m loving this one a lot , thinking of buying a lifetime supply of my favorite Shoyeido’ s offerings and never worry about running out of them or changing the lineup again .

I understand how you feel about those really refined Shoyeido sticks. they have put together a unique “masala” that pervades many of their finer sticks and I would not want to be unable to experience that scent in the future. A fair amount of my incense experimentation has been trying to find someway to recreate that mix on some primitive level.

I smell fenugreek, vanillin, some have a well balanced celery like scent that is very appealing. Wish I understood how to make mixtures in that general style - it smells like there are some essential oils and isolates in there as well.

Sunrise routine with Shoyeido
Sho-kaku ( translucent path)
Ga-ho ( refinement)
Nan-kin ( southern wind)
These tiny diameter sticks pack a punch and fill my room with beautiful scents. Not as much smoke in the air as with fat sticks but seems like more scent. Can’t wait to try more high quality Japanese sticks in the future, after I stock my stash with a lifetime supply of Shoyeido, the kids can figure out what to do with them when I’m gone . 😎

Well put! I’m at a point in my life where this is somehow just what I need to listen to - download all their albums to my phone and I just put that on shuffle 75% of the time these day when I’m driving 😀. More or less the soundtrack of my spring and summer.

The last time I really listened
them was in the early 80s so the music feels plenty fresh and it’s just a nostalgia trip in the best since
Paranoid was a mind expander when I got it at 13 in the late 90s while in boarding school. That album had so much variety. I loved the power chords of ironman. The momentum of fairies wear boots. And I went to sleep every night to Planet Caravan.

shoyeido plum blossom, i have a decent collection of incense and don’t know how i missed this thread. i know this is a super cheap stick but it’s one of my favorites of all that i have tried. just a perfect spice blend
I’m going to give this one a try !! I am in love with the spice herb blends from Shoyeido and burn many of the more affordable but no less delicious sticks daily . I spend most of my awake hours outside working on my farm and under the big tree I sit and burn incense when I take breaks

that sounds like an amazing life i gotta tell ya! staring at a computer screen indoors all day is not the best for my sanity and i used to work on a farm, hard work but very rewarding.

not shoyeido but another affordable spicey and smooth blend that is really incredible is Yamadamatsu - Suifu Gokuhin

I burned a sandalwood stick (shoyeido, “incense road” line). Delicious sweet spicy mix - shoyeido has a really nice vibe.

Shoyeido jewel series “ruby” stick followed by an “emerald “ stick
Goes to show you can have great experiences and awesome natural scents that don’t cost a lot. I love this one along with the rest of their jewel collection
