My Shoyeido order arrived (only ordered it on Wed night, super quick!)
I burned the cheapest, Horin Kawa (river path). Really spicy and quite smoky. Enjoyable.
I kinda expected these sticks to be bigger though really. Now to try everything else in due course šŸ˜€

Those little short boxes are pretty short aren’t they?

yeah it was about a 10-12 minute burn. Not too bad, I guess. I'm breaking the larger ones in half - burned (half a stick) King's Aroma while in the bath and it probably burned for 15mins which is decent enough! I think I'd overloaded myself with scent though and couldn't pick up on it too well. Was wearing 3x cedar oils by Mesoud and had been burning quite a bit of oud beforehand/
My poor nose!

Nankun ( southern wind) from Shoyeido
One of my favorites . As I really enjoy these I’m finding it’s 3x cheaper to buy them from my tea vendor than anywhere else . Not as much variety but 3x cheaper than other places here in the USA . I’m a starting to horde these Shoyeido sticks at this low price

Half a stick of Dr. Incense processed Mysore before calling it a day! (Listening to old Black Sabbath) I love sandalwood for its calming effect.
Old Black Sabbath is a love of mine - i was listening to ā€œa bit of fingerā€ on my
commute this morning. I’ve been on a Black Sabbath binge because i just moved back near where I lived when I first discovered the band…

I love their unique sound - best metal band ever and many of the songs are structured and don’t just repeat a single idea over and over. Seems like so much rock is just one main theme and a refrain or chorus and that’s it, with a fade out ending. Some sabbath songs (like bit if finger) have a whole album’s worth of material in it and a connected beginning and end, etc. that song is 15 minutes long and yet isn’t repetitive.

I'll tell you a story. I have been a life long fan of the band, was gifted the 1st album in 1971 by my older sis. I was teased and harassed by my peers who listened to the Jackson 5 and the Osmonds back then when I was 10...Now they all remember me because of it.

BS created "acid rock" as it was called back then, and gave birth to "Heavy Metal"/ Nobody on this plantet has more recognizable "licks" and "riffs" than Tony Iommi. Nobody could ever replace Ozzy's voice in how he carried the emotion and the words and well what amazing song writing and don't forget the amazing bass and drums.! I bought Xerjoff's Iommi and it came with a signed guitar pic.

Well put! I’m at a point in my life where this is somehow just what I need to listen to - download all their albums to my phone and I just put that on shuffle 75% of the time these day when I’m driving šŸ˜€. More or less the soundtrack of my spring and summer.

The last time I really listened
them was in the early 80s so the music feels plenty fresh and it’s just a nostalgia trip in the best since
