Some Tokusen by Baieido came today as well as Pride of Tokyo and Misho (Gentle Smile) from the premium range of Shoyeido*, I only bought the Tokusen though, other 2 were gifts from the owner of lotuszen. Right now I have 2 Tokusen running, these are so nice, my second box ever. 80 sticks for 11.99 GBP.

Pride of Kyoto by Shoyeido's Premium Range. I also have 20 Misho (Gentle Smile) sticks that are 4.3inches long, so will be used as a special stick. I got both of these premium sticks for free from lotuszenincense.co.uk as being a good customer and helping him with his website a lot. The Pride of Kyoto is the only one I have tried and omg, this is such an amazing stick!!! It smells of pure agarwood resin. I got them with my 11.99 Tokusen sticks for free. The Pride of Kyoto isn't even for sale on his website, he just found a full box lol. 7inches long with 35 sticks, so suitable for burning and taking in the amazing, mood changing smell while doing other things.

Just finished my first Misho (Gentle Smile) stick by Shoyeido's premium range. This was really something else. If you dont concentrate heard enough a lot of the aloeswood can be similar to the aloeswood in the horin range, but when I was really in that meditative, focused and intentioned mindset, it was no longer just a "sweet higher end aloeswood stick". I could smell the nuances of berries, slight camphor and some other things that are hard to remember, but the main note as soon as lit was pure aloeswood resin, then when I went in and out of quiet to loud inner thought, the scent went back to just sweet resin but higher quality than the rest of pure Shoyeido's Aloeswood, and ten when I went into a quiet, intended state of mind that I was really focusing on the stick, called, "listening", I was able to pick out other notes that resembled FANTASTIC aloeswood. I got that creamy woody smell, with some berries (not sure if the aloeswood used would have been Cambodian or Vietnamese that way), camphor way in the back, and that was about it, but I am 100% sure there are other notes, EVEN IN THE HORIN RANGE that I have had for ages, it's just that with these sticks they require full attention, in order to get the nuance in the stick instead of just sweet resin.

Really beautiful stick, just like Pride of Kyoto, but with more complexity. Pride of Kyoto is easier to sense the good nice aloeswood notes without having to focus too much.

I wonder what Adam's sticks were like. My source of agarwood in the UK got taught about oud by Russian Adam!!!
They're still available thought their focus is really just straight up Vietnamese agarwood plus the scent of Russian Oud II. Personally, if you have a bottle of Russian Oud II, I'm not sure how you'd be able to smell anything else once you've applied it 😅

Just finished burning 4 Tokusen sticks by Baieido. These sticks are nice, there is plentiful aloeswood in them, most likely a mid range sandalwood (maybe lower) just to keep that woodiness around a little more potent, but it is foremost a very aloeswood-y stick. Very camphor minty style, with dry sweetness, as well as a relaxing DARK DARK, DARK chocolate vibe that gives it a bitter sweetness. I like these sticks, and they are easy on the wallet... or.... bank card? Haha.

I've also got some Pride of Kyoto burning currently. I got a sample set of Shoyeido a little while ago and it was one of the ones included. This is my second last stick but I think I'll definitely get more of these. Almost smell like a burnt honey or treacle.

Got up late today, around 4pm. I am very, very close to the end of the burning of 4 Tokusen Kobunboku sticks by Baieido. They cost a pound or so more, than the Byakudan (high quality sandalwood) ones, but the sandalwood is not a very high grade, compared to the Byakudan one, it is just acceptable incense grade, and I think it is only there to give a boost to the woody notes of the aloeswood, which apparently from a blog I read, has plentiful premium Indonesian Aloeswood. It does smell very, very aloeswood-y. Dry sweetness, some chocolate note and easy to understand aloeswood. Thumbs up for the first incenses of the day!!!
