How is it? I have Tensei which is the sweeter more "Kyara-like" version of their Aloeswood sticks. I like Kaden Kobunboku, Baieido, do you think I would like Kukai? I want to try it its just 102 pounds so its quite expensive!!!Tennendo Kuukai

Tensei is a sweet amber focused stick. Kuukai is very nice. I prefer it to Tensei, hands down. Just order a $20 roll from Japan Incense. How is it? Kai Un Koh is a fine daily that gives you an insight into the Baieido signature. I’m out now, will be on my next Baieido order for sure!Baeido kai un koh 🙂
Good stuff. Thick stick, burns for a while and gives off a strong, spicy/woody scent
I'm so bad at describing incense & heated agarwood vs oils! an enjoyable burn, I think this is my 2nd box - yup, first bought back in 2019 and then repurchased last year
I can't. Japanincense dont ship to the UK. I will get the 102 pound box at some point haha. Tensei is very lovely, I wouldnt consider it amber based, the ingredients are plentiful amounts of MULTIPLE aloeswoods, and possibly some Tennendo's good quality oil. It is meant to mimic Kyara. I love Tensei, I have a 450 box of it, and have a couple hundred left.Tensei is a sweet amber focused stick. Kuukai is very nice. I prefer it to Tensei, hands down. Ah, that's a shame about Japan Incense, didn't know that.I can't. Japanincense dont ship to the UK. I will get the 102 pound box at some point haha. Yes they do lol, Kukai is £102, Tensei is £90 for the same amount of sticks. It is a multiple aloeswood stick.Ah, that's a shame about Japan Incense, didn't know that.
Yes, Tensei is ripe with sweet amber. Even unlit it's obvious. Go down to your local hippy gift shop and ask for some amber resin and take a whiff. The Tennendo sticks at that price range do not have plentiful amounts of multiple aloeswoods.
""Tensei" is based on a high-quality Aloeswood / agarwood with a soft fragrance, reminiscent of the scent of "Kyara". It is a wonderful gem with just the right amount of sweetness and spiciness. It has a sour agarwood scent, and is characterized by a refreshing scent. When the burning is stable, the aroma becomes more mellow, the sourness disappears, and the soft sweetness stands out. It is a wonderful incense with a rich incense reminiscent of the scent of Kyara." JapanIncenseAh, that's a shame about Japan Incense, didn't know that.

Haha, ok. Cool write-up and marketing, but no. I'm not even saying Kuukai is loaded with aloeswood. It's got plenty of sandalwood in it as well. If you are saying it doesn't have plentiful aloeswood in it then that is factually wrong lol, it has a good amount of high quality aloeswood with in house oils mixed, Kukai may not have oils and maybe more dry? Also, there is no sandalwood in Tensei, or Kukai. Give me some evidence of these claims please?Ah, that's a shame about Japan Incense, didn't know that.

Yes, I know, I have Renzan as well. I have original boxes of these from 10 years ago. Anyways, go on. Doesn't matter. Then you have Renzan, which is a lower grade aloeswood stick by Tennendo. There is no Amber in Tensei, maybe you smell an amber note? But it doesn't have amber in it... @Simla House
Renzan does have sandalwood that was my mistake. But Tensei and Kukai are pure agarwood/aloes sticks.Yes, I know, I have Renzan as well. I have original boxes of these from 10 years ago. Anyways, go on. Doesn't matter.
That's cool and all, but it still has amber in it.@Simla House If you want even more evidence about Tensei then here, read this (not being cheeky btw I hope it doesnt come cross that way, it is a very good review): https://kikohincense.com/blogs/news/listening-to-tennendo-tensei
And the reviewer who has contacts directly with Japanese houses says this: "lending multiple premium select Aloeswoods" About Tensei.
Where is this evidence then? That's cool and all, but it still has amber in it.
How do you know that for a fact? Because you do know, Amber can be a note as well as the resin. Just like how a tree (agarwood) can smell like flowers, does oud have flowers in it then? That's cool and all, but it still has amber in it.
