I am upset for you brother, I have been trying half sticks of some of his floral sticks including a sample of
White ginger lily and They are tasty! You feel like you are almost in a field of flowers! At least you save some money as it is always to tempting to get more then budget allows!
I know that feeling lol. How many sticks do you actually get in a 1g tube?

Yeah, I mean it's all just speculation really. They could have created a whole new stick and called it something else for sure. That's what I mean by "you don't know what you don't know". You do now know and as much as it creates a new appreciation there is a loss as well. I've also been wondering about the Muromachi as I don't think I've seen anyone mention them before so will also be getting a box soon. I've found a company that does a gift set of all the Horin range for an excellent price (exc Peacful Sky) and will be getting that very soon.
Yeah, I heard on r/incense that the Muromachi was better than the new Peaceful Sky back when they changed Peaceful Sky. Although I have heard on ORS that it is a 2 note, basic, uncomplex stick, but ORS aren't the be all and end all of what everyone will get from a specific stick as it is all relative.

And yes you are very true, it's kinda like once you're awake to the evils of the world, there's no going bac to naivety and thinking the world is harmless. Once you try the old stock, the new ones (that I once loved) feel disappointing now, sadly 🙁

Kaden Kobunboku by Baieido. I haven't been listening to this one lately so I decided to put one on while lying in bed before getting up. It is a very unique stick, it is like marmite, you will either love it or hate it, or grow an acquired smell for it, I loved it first try

Notes are so complex and beautiful as it has over 20 ingredients in 1 stick, the main ones being a mid quality Vietnamese Aloeswood that you can actually buy on Japanincense 15grams of it, it has more of a creamy, blonde colour to the wood, and Sandalwood.

Notes are very nice, with a nice aloeswood (wood) note, a nice red, semi sweet, sour, almost bitter (to my nose, I know plenty of people that really dislike this incense because of how "acrid" it is, it is just in fact more sour and bitter than sweet), berry resin note as well, with some sandalwood notes circling the outside of the stick, and inside of the stick is the aloeswood. The sandalwood is very basic with a dry woody note, and a somewhat sweet-ish creamy note, with almost no butter (that I could detect, but I did think I could smell something along those lines, just not that strong), the aloeswood has notes of nice dark bitter, earthy chocolate, and semi-sweet chocolate, the stick is quite sour but also sweet, hence the "semi sweetness" (to a degree to my nose, it is in fact, though, very piercing in it's sour and bitterness). It has notes of various herbs and spices, in fact, the sandalwood is actually quite spicy because of this, and it is Indian sandal which is (usually) never spicy, but instead sweet, the sandalwood still grips onto the sweetness but the spiciness is there too and somewhat overpowers it with the aloeswoods and other ingredients piercing bitter, sour quality. Earthiness is a key note in this stick too, it is very nice but creates a "dirty" feeling stick, kind of like a wannabe soil wood, but not the same quality as real soil wood, but that kind of effect, I am guessing from either the aloeswood, but I think that note is more to do with the herbs and spices and the aloeswood mixed with them creating that note. Very woody, on both the sandalwood side and aloeswood side, a very spicy stick with a very, rich, earthy, sour/sweet, and musky profile. This stick is not for everyone, and it is not exactly a top shelf stick, but it is a very nice stick and for the price, Baieido made a gem here. Although, I am starting to realise, that I like Tokusen better.

Seikado Gokujo kyara

This is the purest, most straightforward green oil kyara stick Ive experienced.
How would you compare the complexities of this stick to that of Kyara Enju? I have a few half, quartered and (almost) a full stick left of those, and sometimes you just need to be in that "right" headspace to enjoy it. It is mind boggling to me. It doesn't feel like a scent, it feels like a "feeling". It is weird, in a good way... I think 😂.

Enju is more complex, Gokujo seems to me to be much more just straight forward green oil kyara, with out much, if any other ingredients or spices, etc. Im glad I finally got a box of it after pondering it for the last few years.

I agree with you on Enju as well. I have some of it leftover but I never seem to use it because it's feels so special that I want to make sure I can enjoy it as much as possible.

Gokujo, is by no means cheap, but you get 20 or so sticks for $200 and I only burn an inch at a time. The sticks are thicker than Enju as well, which is quite a lot more expensive now that they changed the packaging on it.

Yeah, Enju just feels so ethereal as well, it is a very complex stick. It is truly psychoactive. I cant wait to try some entry level Kyara as well, and the higher grades when I can. Have you ever tried raw wild Kyara?

Agree fully on that about Enju. I noticed Enju and gokujo have a fairly immediate calming property that I don't find in most agarwood.

Yes definitely. I have a few legit wild kyaras, black, white and green. Plus a fair amount of cultivated kyara of all colors.

NineRegion's (High Quality) Handmade Cambodia Oud sticks, link here: https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005...st_main.5.34ac1802R3OIwi&gatewayAdapt=glo2vnm

These are very, very nice sticks, I got them today with a basic 10g tube (same size as the Cambodian ones) as a gift, of Mysore Sticks too from NineRegion. Very nice, and 2 CK sticks that sadly keep going out when I try Monkoh with half a stick (as 1 stick is around 8 inches, same as the Cambodian and Mysore, atleast they stay lit, hopefully its just 1 bad one of the CK stick.

Anyway, the Cambodian incense sticks are absolutely amazing for the price, they are 100% worth £25 for 21 8 inch sticks. They start off with an absolutely beautiful red hued berry aloeswood resin note and very oudy throughout, and the image in my head was of literally a Cambodian piece of wood burning away and each resin bubble popping. Notes of very nice mintiness, soft mintiness, almost in a wild kinamic way, but different, in its own Cambodian mintiness, the mintiness is similar to Kinam but it is 100% not the same, it is not menthol either, it is closest to wild Kinam mintiness (even though the wood used in the stick is most likely just the highest grade from a Cambodian plantation, plantation "King Grade"), but it has its difference for sure, it is actually quite difficult to describe, but it is very nice, and beautiful. Fruity notes coming out while the resin of the wood is bubbling away in the background with its red berry note, then BAM, a cherry note, and other "red" fruits, but not too many, it is not too overwhelming of a stick when it comes to notes, but it is definitely a nice, good plantation Cambodian oud sticks. I absolutely love these, and for the price, I am definitely ordering myself another tube soon and a few others in June (probably around 5-10, to use as daily Cambodian oud sticks, as I am also waiting for my Kangiiten order that will be here tomorrow that have wild Cambodian aloeswoods, I guess since those sticks are a blend of every agarwood producing region of Cambodia, they are a 25g box of small sicks that Kangiiten say last 20mins, so perfect for Monkoh. I will compare the 2 Cambodian sticks I got today from Kangiiten's ).

I didn't get a fancy packaging with my Cambodian sticks lol here are the pics...

Atleast it is a glass tube 😅

Nice! Looking forward to mine as well. Nine regions is great for mid level very affordable incense. Have not tried any of their oils. I am sceptical about those.

The wild Hainan co2 is nice, especially for the price. The profile is quite good and lasts a long time. However since it is a c02 it is on the quieter side in terms of projection, but for $30 a gram, it's hard to complain. Something that is cheap and very nice smelling that you can slather on in large quantities with out any second thought. The cultivated kynam co2 is the same but quieter and a more minimal profile. The other oils are a miss and I wouldn't recommend.

Vintage NhaTrang from professor incense. Really liking this one! milky, light florals and sweet oud. Would definitely be happy getting more of this!
Glad to hear you're liking this one more FreeSoul! I've been really loving the Fusen Red Soil and the Mysore Sandalwood sticks. The latter are super milky, it's like heating a wonderful sandalwood oil, I seldom burn anything more than a portion of these sticks!

Fusen Red Soil I've also had a great impression of, the first time I burned it, I felt my nose tingle and my mustache got a slightly numb. The afterburn I found to be exceptionally pleasant as well. One of the sad aspect of exposing myself to higher grade sticks has been more economical blended incense stick getting pushed way back on the "To Burn List"

Awesome, thankyou. I'll check them both out.
