I haven't made the time to make that comparison yet but I'll make a point of doing that next. The white from Kangiiten is the one colour I didn't manage to get my hands on. No idea when they'll get that back in. I do remember thinking when I first got the black that it was a firm favourite but that was a while ago.
A comparison would be great, cheers! Hopefully Kangiiten re stock the Dark Body soon. Black is my second favourite to the white.

Old Stock Shoyeido, Tenpyo, Peaceful Sky (Horin Range). These old stock sticks are definitely Kyara + Aloeswood sticks, the Kyara in them is quite noticeable (not as noticeable as Seijudo, Enju, but this is where I am getting my reference from in terms of kinamic notes). Starts off with a nice dark, but very sweet aloeswood resin, and seconds later it brings out these absolutely beautiful florals that last pretty much through the burn as new notes show up. As the stick is burning and you are (carefully) wafting the smoke in your face, during the Monkoh session, you notice a nice pleasurable sour berry note, with the sweetness and florals still intact, shortly after you get a nice, soft, wild minty kinamic note that lasts throughout the rest of the session.

Notes: Fresh clear aloeswood resin with floral notes, sour and sweet red berries, a tad spiciness, bitterness and a nice mintiness that was refreshing.

Although the stick was refreshing for the soul, the psychoactivity of these sticks are quite relaxing, almost sedating and numbing. Heh, funnily enough, when the soft lovely mintiness came about I got a nice numbing feeling in my throat.

Very nice sticks, so glad I got them, thank you @sabahan!!!!

Stacked up on kyara enju old stock! A big silk old version and 9 small packs of 6 mini sticks each! It feels good

Old Stock Tenpyo, Peaceful Sky by Shoyeido's Horin range that was gifted to me by @sabahan, months ago and i still have 9 out of the 20 left!!! I use them very sparingly as they are so precious to me.

These sticks are definitely a (wild) Kyara dominating stick, or well they used to be, the new version of these sticks are a sad, poor resemblance of their old version, with just having a small amount of the same aloeswood that was in the original with no Kyara whatsoever.

This experience was wonderful, just sitting on my bed doing a Mon-koh session with these, as I do with all the Horin ranges, and things like Enju and other premium sticks. Once alit the first notes were of a highly powerful aloeswood resin, with a soft (but strong), well rounded kinamic mintiness that stayed there the whole burn as well as the aloeswood resin note (that I think is possibly crassna, but not sure), but the mintiness would slide into the background every few mins then come back but you could always feel it being there. Notes of lovely sweetness, honey, vanilla, kinamic spiciness, sourness and a tiny bit of the kinamic bitterness, very pleasant indeed!!! Nearer the end, when the stick was very close to the end (I also only have the TNIEST nub ever left which I will post a picture of here, so 99% of it was fully used) I was getting all these notes slowly coming to a close and a nice sweet honey treacle, with lovely (sweet of course because of the honey note) florals that lasted till the end.

Lovely sticks, and I am sad that they didn't keep these sticks this way and just raise the price on them instead of changing them into a not so great, but acceptable stick 🙁.

Here is the picture of the nub left (I still put it in my nub jar 😂):

Sangdanli Temple Nunnery. What a charming incense! Salty evergreen, musky, full of woody spice; beautifully woven with vanillic cream. A warm, friendly greeting.

Gang-Zi Mani Nunnery. So soft, smooth and nuanced, I need more time to tune into this one. Like red berries on a snow laden tree; it might be preferable during the winter.

Minorien Fu-In Aloeswood

Nice neutral Oud-y smelling incense. The minorien signature “damp/wet” scent really shines through here. It has a slight sweetness, but not as much as the kyara stick, nor does it have the beautiful florals found in that one.

I think I prefer both the Fu-In sandalwood sticks and the kyara ones. Still, this is a solid balanced Aloeswood stick that gives you the Aloeswood scent without any spices or perfumes overpowering it. Don’t regret the buy, but I think I will stick to the other options in the Fu-In line, and look for alternative Aloeswood sticks once I finish this small box.

After burning plenty of sticks from each of the Fu-In lineup, I think it is a great entry point into Japanese incense and it will be my reference as I compare to other brands.
