big up whoever was recommending kai un koh by baieido... adore this blend & find it so soothing & dry & woody. price is definitely right too : ) for the stickmasters here, are there any in this wheelhouse that i should check out next?

Might've been me… This is one of my favorites that I drag out from time to time. Classic old world medicinal ancient style incense. I believe they extruded this old blend in square sticks as a kind of a homage to their origins - the square profile reflects an older or more primitive style of making sticks apparently.

I also think back at their origin they were something in between a source of medicine and incense - it's been a while since I've read the story. This stick to me feels almost medicinal.

I'm always amazed at the price as well - quite a bargain

yes! i love the square press & the medicinal vibe of it... do any of the kangiiten sticks approach this profile?

Dual burn baby! Dreams of Merauke - Kangiiten + Beckoning Spring - Shoyeido.
Go hard or go home. 😁

I ended up getting one of these. It has a roach clip instead of the the pinch point.

The Dr. Incense Sinking Jayapura burned like a charm. I don't know why I find the hanging trail of ash so amusing 😅

Prof.Incense - Fusen Red Soil

Snapped a stick in half for quick session before bed. I’ve come to love these sticks over the last year, they’re very complex, I perceive different nuances every time.
I’m getting the red fruit-caramel-musk which is the core profile, but tonight it’s more cooling with herbal notes & a dark green oakmoss.

A really lovely Jasmine stick I am burning and it has a very slow burn to it. I actually cut the stick in half it lasts so long. I placed this one on the stair case and it has made it way all round the house pretty much most rooms.. A delightful fresh scent considering it is burning...🙂
I don't see much discussion of floral incense here. Any info on source or brand?

Papua New Guinea Agarwood
I love this deep dark strong Agarwood, this hits the spot.
Are you talking sticks or wood? If you’re talking sticks, who made them? I’m in the market for good PNG sticks as I’ve never tried them in incense form, I love heating PNG wood however. mesOud has some excellent wood from Muting, The Oud Lab’s Merauke AQ is the best Merauke wood I’ve heated. Finding wood from the PNG side of Papua island is difficult.

I have not sampled any of the Kangiiten incense if that was a question for me.

I bought this box about eight months ago in a small shop quite a distance away from me. It was a surprise finding. I bought about six sticks and used them over time. I have no name for them but they are really good. I think they were made locally and it is my intention to go out of my way again shortly to this shop to see if I can purchase more. They burn really slowly and the shop owner broke the box open to sell the few sticks as I was not sure if I wanted a full box of thirty.
I certainly do now..I will try and find a bit more information shortly.

Guru Aromatix has three grades of PNG wood mate. I have not tried them however. https://guruaromatix.com/products/uber-rare-papua-new-guinea-agarwood?variant=47629704790357
