I… since I am going on disability retirement. I have to stock up my perfumer’s organ and save up for the battle with the federal government for benefits.

Joe I thought you were old money based on your posts here! You seem bit as hard as I am 🙂
PS: Is there an ouddict 12 step group?

Burned some Suko Oud - Nusantara Zen. Very nice and may be my favorite that I have from Suko Oud. It would be nice if they started making incense again but you can still get some of their stuff from Rising Phoenix Perfumery at ridiculously marked up prices that I will pass on. I’m glad I have a few different selections from Suko Oud and enough to last for a couple of decades.

I have a lot of wood. Luckily I am getting a sub today! So I will be able to enjoy it like you! Can't wait to be part of “the gang” here!

I have some of their sticks as well and the quality for the price was quite nice 🙂

Too bad they're discontinued since 2022. Use sparingly my friend!
Its only one life so he have to enjoy them as much as he can.
Besides the Shokaku isn't really discontinued, its available but a bit worse formula and its so easy to get old stocks, Myo-ho/Go-un harder to come by.
Also few other sticks way harder to find than shokaku, I bet Shoyeido made lots of it back then.

Prof Incense - Soil Ambon. This stick often comes across as bitter to me but last night when I burnt it I was decidedly getting very creamy and sweet notes. Quite the contrast. Again, I believe the cooler temps have made a big difference in how I perceive particular scents. Last time I burnt one of these was in Vietnam and it was very warm and humid (although I was in an air conditioned room).

I got a sub and it work on a resinous piece of Agarwood very well. I'm thrilled but my partner demanded I turn it off because we can't open the windows and our a/c is broke. So instead I'm using my Shoyeido electric heater (it doesn't get as hot as the sub) and using granulated bits instead. I'm heating Firebird Select Houjoukoh Gokuhin. Its a spicy treat. Invigorating from a hard day at the Drs and work. Its ingredients are Aloeswood, Sandalwoo, Star anise, Clove, Cinnamon. Defiantly recommended. It is heavy on the clove so you gotta like that first.

This was oud for today
Silani oud chips not the highest quality but they are unique I am used to the Indian stuff this smells more oceanic and spicy compared to hindi oud chip where it is more sweet , greeny and leathery

Also, I realized the Silani dosent last as long as Hindi
