I very occasionally light my Kohgen Kyara sticks,
just too darn expensive, so today is special.
Watarai told me that the sticks contain 55% green oil kyara, and smelling it at room temperature unlit, it sure does smell like green oil kyara, when lit, the kyara is once again most of what I smell, so to unlock it’s added aromatics, I crushed some of it onto a mica sheet, and heated it on low. I got just the tiniest bit of cinnamon, a little clove, and a kneaded incense plum vibe.

I am often reminded of oud oils when I light incense.
This morning...
Dr. Incense Assam, it reminds me of Tajoud Imani
+
KZ Tarakan, it reminds me of Habzoud Fahd

Pay particular attention to the fruityfloral notes, but not during the prayer:Cooler:

That makes me think..........
I love how incense, oud, and chips are taken to the next level, when they are used in combination with Prayer, Contemplation, Meditation, and Wellness.

+1 and I think this is true with everything. Try preparing and eating your next meal in silence and with total focus. It's amazing how rich life becomes when we stop thinking so much and pay attention!

Making some crude sticks. Three batches: sandalwood, Himalayan cedar, Himalayan juniper. Each with about 15-20% mako powder. I was being a little careless. One batch I mixed, kneaded, and extruded without much delay. Another I allowed to sit for a while before extruding. The sandalwood incense is the first to dry. It seems to be burning too hot - no subtle sandalwood scent. It leaves a very nice sweet sandalwood after-scent if burned in a closed room. Sandalwood is always a challenge

They look awesome! Is that a tile you're using to mold each stick? Very clever 🙂
I want to give making incense a go too

Yes quarry tile left over from a project. All my incense sucks though.

Lit my homemade Borneo stick.

It has been drying for 3 weeks now, and at this point smells better than before. I didn’t realize that drying should take this long because after only one day , the sticks appear dry. Suffice to say, semi-blissful:Inlove:

Seikado Gokujo Kyara Koh

Pretty good Kyara delivery, but somehow I feel that part of the kyara scent comes from added aromatics,
but I can’t be certain 😕
