IO Walla Patta sticks

A stark departure from the usual
Vietnamese and Indonesian sticks
used by Japanese Incense Houses.

Imagine the recipes they could’ve
created if they used the Wallas😀

.......anyhow, jolly good stick:Thumbsup:

Fired-up my Nippon Kodo Borneo
homemade stick
(charcoal and tragacanth gum binder)

Two words..... Awe Some!!!😀
All my homemade agarwood sticks will now be
made using this binder recipe.

For starters, the Borneo granules have a beautiful aroma, and the finished stick retains that aroma
with minimal deviation.
I’m really stoked:Cooler:

Agar Aura Hainan Special K. Lovely top end sticks. Took my electric heater in to work as there is no one else here, so I can be as fragrant as I like 🙂
I much prefer to heat incense sticks on a burner or heater rather than light them - so much more clarity and range of notes 🙂 .... and I won't set off the fire alarm haha

If possible to mix musk in incense and sticks, please share the technique and process.
I already tried dipping a sandalwood stick into my musk tincture, then allowed it to dry. The results are okay, so that when I make some homemade sticks, I will put a few drops of the tincture. The only other way is to incorporate raw grains, but I won’t be experimenting with that method..........
.........my tincture is strong, and as soon as my
grains from Sibermusk arrive, I will add to it.

Beautiful colour!

Is it tincture or maceration?

Well, once I sprinkled a few grains on sandal powder on the coal. I ran out of the room even quicker than that weird smell molecules flew out of the room.

This is a good idea if tincture is to be mixed in incense. And if tincture does work, maceration will do as well.

It is a tincture in perfumer’s alcohol.

In high concentrations the musk does indeed have a sharpness to it when burned, dare I say magic marker:Roflmao::Roflmao:, but not exactly.

When used in incense , I find that hyraceum smells more like deer musk raw grains than deer musk itself😕, but that is with the one and only batch of hyraceum that I have tried, another batch from a different source is on it’s way, and I shall compare the two.

Well, last month I made incense and used Muskroot, and made dough in honey. When heated, Muskroot smelt highly masculine and strong in there. I already have replaced frankincense with mastic. And Saffron is an integral part of incense I make.

Second, nowadays, I am heating loose incense. It is to be experienced.

Thanks for writing about hyraceum.
