Wearing CraftOud's Santal Sundar today. It took a while for this one to grow on me but I now really love it. Rich vibrant honey. It feels like the scent fills my throat as I breathe it in from my wrist. CO's sandalwood oils are 💯
When I first got this oil it still had strong still notes from the copper pot. I found that taking the applicator out of the bottle but leaving the lid on helped speed up the process of those notes dissipating.

I didn’t like it either but now that the still notes are gone I love it.

Admittedly I didn’t understand still notes at the time. I had read about them but didn’t know for sure what they smelled like. I have experienced them enough times now (in sandalwood) that I know it’s just going to be awhile before I know if I like the oil or not. As far as oud goes I don’t know if I have come across them or not.

I have no idea if that was your issue or not but I thought I’d bring it up because maybe it will help someone else. I’m glad you enjoy the oil as craftoud does an incredible job with sandalwood.

Today I’m wearing a totally fresh distillation of Mysore from AlHind oud
Let me start by saying “wow”
This oil has no still notes whatsoever and it’s fresh as fresh can be!
It is so awesome to have another passionate distiller here on this forum and one with great ability for outsourcing amazing oils as well as the skills to produce.
I’m looking forward to more from this House in the future!
Big respect to AlHind oud !

Appreciate that! More things are on the way! Can’t be thankful enough for your valuable input and also to this wonderful community.

A mixture of rksons sandalwood and sandalwood co2 in a spray bottle as a sandalwood eau de toilette or whatever you might call it. Quite nice and woody!

Just received five grams of @An Najwa sandalwood imperial Sri Lankan 2022.
Very clean, buttery and fresh. This is going to age well and am delighted I got this considering the price. Lovely creamy notes from the bottle. Thank you brother for the wonderful samples.
Excellent person to do business with. Very trusting and more interested in getting oil out to customers then anything else. I am still waiting to pay for this...🤣🤣

Some Aussie sandalwood I got from Auromere a while back. It has an expiration date of 2007 - guess I’d better throw it out lol.

Anyway this has been aging in a bottle that is 1/3 full at most for a long time. Surprisingly the smell is still very much like it was as I remember it when it was fresh. This particular oil has a kind of “chewy herbal resinous” quality that almost reminds me a little bit of beta caryophyllene or crushed cannabis leaves in addition to the mellow sandalwood aspect. It does not have any obvious oxidized notes or anything like that.

I would gladly help you with getting rid of this old oil 🤢.
