Sandalwood oil of the day

My poor sandalwood is now in hawaii, USPS has been a mess lately for anyone else? I have 2 packages out of 3 just going in the wrong direction. Prob some sandalwood in my future today, but not the one I'm waiting for

Interested in any reviews of the sandalwood oil that @mesOUD recently distilled! Unfortunately my small bottle got swallowed up by the logistical nightmare caused by the on again/off again tariffs and fees. I'm sure it's an excellent specimen but I'm wondering if anybody can elaborate any particular things that either set it apart in some way or that connect it to particular other oils that may have been shared here? I've smelled enough small batch sandalwood to have a sense for what these bring to the table but I'm always curious about unique notes/terroir etc.

Is it the one called Kabini you are referring to?

A few of us posted about it above (a couple of pages back in this thread). I just took another swipe, and it’s really great - the best I have tried so far, not that that means a great deal. 😅

It has no boring, dull lumber notes at all - the whole profile is killer. When I swiped it tonight, it has an almost almond-adjacent note in the opening, which separates into lemony citrus and creamy notes in the drydown.

It’s frustrating to hear that yours didn’t make it to you…you being the one guy we were hoping would get his nose on it and give a view! Hopefully it will turn up.

Indeed it is! In terms of veracity, I feel like it's probably the strongest S.Album oil I have. No toothiness or salivary notes. I get thick lemon curd/butter from go to whoa. Removing the terrior notes, the closest thing I have to this already is the Japanese temple sandalwood from Aroma Sublime. I really do hope yours turns up.

It's definitely gone, at this point fortunately I'm not too attached to things like this but it's definitely a disappointment!

That's the one. I wonder if i am on a list because as of about April this year it just became impossible for me to order things from overseas with any kind of normal outcome, part of the reason I shut down my small business endeavors. I see plenty of others not encountering the same problems so it makes one wonder
