Ordered 3ml hindi oud from holioud looking forward to trying it out. Anyone bought from before hows there oils ?
Aloeswood/Agarwood/Oud Royal Kinam
So I saw this oil mentioned in one of the posts and someone was asking if anyone can try a blind purchase for the benefit of this forum members.
So I did purchase a 3ml bottle and received it after a week since it was shipped from Singapore.
I applied a dab on my right wrist and also applied a dab of EO Basic Kinam on my left wrist to compare given that’s its on the low end of the spectrum of other oils with kinam notes. Initial impression, it’s a thick oil , likely due to to open container oxidation. It seems to be a older batch of cultivated Cambodian oud which has been oxidized. The top, middle and base notes as the same monotone sweet candy aroma and not up lifting. After 2 hours it’s faded down where as I can still smell EO basic kinam.
This oil doesn’t seem to be Kinam from any facets nor Vietnamese. If they acquirdna old batch of oil from people who live on the Vietnamese Cambodian border doesn’t automatically quality for the oil to be called Vietnamese Kinam

I had purchase a few items from their store over 15 years ago and they were not impressive, it appears that not much has changed in the quality of products over time. You get what you pay for

Waiting on some wild Hainan sinking grade
Wood being sent from the kinam farm. The workers search the jungle floor after working at the farm all day and find only a few pieces here and there and sinkers are scarce and get sold immediately. Also trying out some cultivated yellow kinam that was planted as an experiment and is from the first pieces harvested. They carved beads from the first cultivated yellow kinam harvest and I talked him into giving up some of the shavings .
Can’t wait to heat the kinam without burning up all my savings🙂
