What an interesting catalog they have. Most oils seems sold out on their website, but nice to browse the descriptions anyway. Enjoy🙂House Of Ain order came in beautifully. Looking forward to sitting with each of these very rich and animalic pieces of art View attachment 56919
Usually pretty small batches that do sell out quickly yea. Everything is unique and enjoyable so far. What an interesting catalog they have. Most oils seems sold out on their website, but nice to browse the descriptions anyway. Enjoy🙂
oof... that will be quite the speed run I imagine!Scent Expo NYC. Not a thing in a bottle but in many bottles. And very much anticipated. Been looking through online catalogs and making notes. The rare times I’ve been in similar situations with a lot of oud I let my nose lead and then let my eyes read the label. So that’s my current strategy. Im going to have to make the most of it though because like a dummy I agreed to work this coming Sunday and Monday to make a little extra money for this event. I just looked at the calendar and realized what I had done 🤪! Good thing I’m only working a couple blocks away so sadly for me Scent Expo will be my lunch break.
I’m now on a bit of a mission. I know about what I want to try at least and unless everyone brings surprises it should be ok. I just asked for a long lunch and even if I just get to introduce myself and say hi face to face that’s good too.oof... that will be quite the speed run I imagine!

One of the best, or maybe even the best smelling sandalwood I ever put my nose on was a Hawaiian sandalwood some 15years ago. Even at that time I tried very hard to get wood to distill some myself, it was as though the pond had dried up. Then I tried to source oil, and again nothing trustworthy.Hawaiian Sandalwood - GCMS on it seems fairly decent, 62% santalols, so at least within range for S. Album, and high for Hawaiian. It'll be different obviously, but good to branch out. Whether thats a good sign or not, I'm not sure 😀 But should be interesting to try one that isnt S.Album or Australian. Looks like unlike Edens which is plantation, this is sustainably harvested deadfall from a forest, and comparing against Eden's GCMS, seems to bear that out.
Should be interesting if anything.
It arrived and it's pretty great. It's all forestry managed deadfall, or overseen by Division of Forestry and Wildlife. Seems like they have their paperwork in order. No age statement, but it is wild, and some of it likely quite old, some of it likely young or branch heartwood, but for what is available, it's quite enjoyable. Prob a shadow of early 2000s, as that was def better pickings then, but I take what I can get. 😉. The early 2000,s for a few years the goods coming out of Hawaii was just incredible.
