If you sell oud/wood you can promote it in the vendor section 😉

welcome here

Hi everyone, I am a long time lurker of the basenotes subforum but never bothered registering until now 🙂 I am 30 years old, father of one and live in Denmark. I am interested in agarwood, sandalwood and Japanese incense, as well as and tea and ceramics.

I also have a PhD in organic chemistry, so if you have questions about GCMS and other analytical methods, aroma chemistry etc. I might be able to answer.

welcome here

Welcome onboard and thanks for joining. We hope the forum is beneficial, il fire away with the first Q are you able to carry out GCMS testing on oud oils? Or help understand results?

Allow me to introduce myself. While my reputation generally precedes me, I will go through the trouble of making an introduction here, for the sake of appearing humble and decent.

I am oud appreciator of the highest order, recognized internationally for my severe, intractable addiction to oud, enthusiastic manner of reviewing ouds, and my remarkable tolerance for fools, heathens, and even those who appreciate low quality, synthetically adulterated Hindi ouds. I have a small team of Lithuanian servants who prepare and apply my oud for me each morning, after lunch, mid-afternoon, and before bed.

Many statues of me holding logs of kyara have been erected (and some later destroyed) in my homeland of California, USA. I am regularly featured on the covers of prestigious international journals such as Oud Times, The Oud Review, The International Journal of Ouddiction, and many others. My publications are abundant, with one of my seminal works (“Ouddiction in the modern world: Diagnosis and treatment planning for paraprofessionals and auxiliary clinical staffâ€) receiving the “Kyarazen Award†for influential contributions.

It is well known (but rarely discussed publicly) within the field of oud distillation that Ensar, Al Shareef, and Taha all learned their distillation techniques from me. I patented both the use of water as a soaking agent, and the use of heat to “cook†the water/agarwood mix. Prior to my contributions neither water or heat were used in oud distillation – an ineffective process known as “cold distillation.â€

I hope that my fame and numerous accomplishments do not make anyone here uncomfortable. At the end of the day, I am just an oud appreciator like everyone else. In exchange for nuggets of sinking grade agarwood I can frequently be persuaded to share advice about the path of optimal oud enjoyment with others.
